I agree, I took a 6speed demo GT out last Saturday around Eastern suburbs of SYD and it was not fun but once I got onto M1 & M5 it was a blast!.Blue Ember 10 S Auto. My 1970 Mustang is a manual and a pain in stop start traffic.
I'm an older guy and what I have found with manual cars is you tend to rev them out a bit in the gears and it's too easy to exceed the speed limit. I'm a bit of a rev head. With an auto just tickle the throttle and it easy to not get too carried away. It's also faster accelerating when you need it.
I posted earlier about my segmentation/ETA dates and noticed a few threads from a couple of members who are not getting any coms from their dealer regarding Vin's and segmentation dates etc. My understanding, after talking with my dealer is that Ford issues an update each Thursday night late when there is a change in production dates and issue a new Vista screenshot to the dealer with the details we all need to maintain our sanity.
My last one is dated 17 June with the dates I previously advised. There have been none since because the Flat Rock plant didn't produce any Mustangs for almost 6 weeks because of closure, resuming 5th August. There should be some news shortly now FR are back producing our Mustangs.
Hi Bossburton and Eremyjay. I also have a Blue Ember 10 S Auto standard seats coming ?????I agree with the open road blast with a manual car. I love to take my 70 out when it's not busy on the highway (I took it out this week) pull over and when there is a gap in the traffic rev it out through the gears. The only problem is by 110 kmph in second I am already at the legal speed limit. But it is enjoyable. Has a big cam.
Just to clarify my earlier statement about receiving an update from the dealership they didn't contact me, actually the reverse applied. I waited until I assumed FR plant was back in production. Then a few days past the August 5 date contacted the Sales Mgr. for an updated Vista screenshot. I could have contacted him on the 22 nd June and I would have got the same info but by then I decided to wait patiently until FRP was up and running again. Unfortunately, it's a bit one sided when it comes to obtaining updates. I'm hopeful the 21 August segmentation date will not now be extended.
It's amazing how patient most of the forum members have been waiting on new Mustangs. My deposit was paid in July 22, 2022 and from reading members threads many made deposits well before the release date in the US. A fortunate few have cars here now (maybe not released to them yet) or have been built but in a US holding yard or have been shipped yet to arrive.
Yes! Dealer sent me a Vista copy in March, I have asked several times for latest to no avail.Have you asked your dealer for a Vista Screenshot. It has a lot of info including your Vin number. The last four letters of my Vin are 1178.
We will have to catch up.
Are you a member of the Mustang Club of Australia, There is a Newcastle Chapter and we meet bi-monthly, next one tomorrow night. I had a call from a Mustang owner in Bundabah a few minutes ago. He might know your son.
