Is there an easy way to disable exhaust sounds through the speakers?

I belive @GrabThatBlue already posted the correct address in the previous thread but maybe there is some misunderstanding, so I'll try and help.

Your EcoBoost does for sure play Engine noise over the speakers. You can turn it off though by downloading and purchasing a liscense for the FORSCAN SW and changing the code to disable it.

In the first thread on the FORSCAN forum there is a spreadsheet, look for the ACM tab, thats the module you need to change. The address is as follows:

727-01-01 xxxx xxxx *x--

There will be three blocks of numbers, you will need to change the first number in the third block.

Your car should have the following in the 3rd block:

xxxx xxxx 3EE3

Change that 3 to a 2.

That disables the Software Sound Enhancement or ESE/EV.

You can verify you car has this enabled by looking up your car's As Built data on the Motorcraft website and looking at that address. I hope this explains it a bit better.
Thanks for the step-by-step instructions. And your patience.

OP here again. I tried this today after getting the right cable and watching some videos about using the Forscan software. I also went to Ford and downloaded the full as built file for my car.
After connecting I went to the ACM module and saved it. The very first line was the one I needed to edit. But I noticed a couple of other lines further down that had a little pull down saying "Write" and "Restore". I didn't know what to make of those since I hadn't made any changes but I pressed on.
The first line was exactly like the poster here said it would look and the section I needed to edit read 3EE3. I change the first 3 to a 2 and I noticed one of the two "E"s had change to a "D". I don't think I did that and again I pressed on, thinking that might be how it's supposed to work.
I clicked the button to write all and a message popped up saying there was a checksum error in the line I had edited and asked if I wanted to write it anyway. Since I had a backup of the module I said yes and Forscan reported it had successfully written the module.
I turned off the ignition and then started the car. I checked that the radio still worked and took the car for a ride. I couldn't tell any difference in the way the car sounded. This is in a convertible with the top down and maybe turning off the engines sounds has a greater impact in a closed car. Or maybe I didn't really succeed in turning off those sounds because of a mistake I made.
So I'd like comments about what I've explained. Is it significant that changing the first 3 to a 2 seemed to create a change in the next character of the last quartet of the line? Should I attempt to re-edit the line? Or maybe reload the module from the backup and start over?

The last 2 digits are checksum values and are automatically changed by the SW when you disabled the ESE. They are represented on the spreadsheet by dashes. For instance:

xxxx xxxx xx--

Notice the dashes at the end. Those are the checksum values. I also always get the same pop up when making a change in Forscan. As long as you are sure your entering the correct values you are good.

As far as the difference in the sound goes all I can say is it made a difference to my ears, but then again I never really run the car in quiet mode either. It could be that if you are already in quiet mode the ESE noise is negligible.

This could be a case of just different people having different sensitivity to noise. I would recommend running the car as is for a bit and trying different modes to see if you can tell a difference. To me running in sport or track it became way too quiet but thats just my opinion.
