Haha, probably true!FYI the porter at your local dealership and the person who took it off the CAL line drove it much harder.
let it sing
will do. ThanksI just looked at the 2026 Mustang Owner's Manual, and the Breaking-In section is very brief.
Your vehicle requires a break-in period. For the first 1,000 mi (1,600 km), avoid driving at high speeds, heavy braking, aggressive shifting or using your vehicle to tow. During this time, your vehicle may exhibit some unusual driving characteristics.
It sounds like you just need to drive it like a normal person and not like a race car driver for the first thousand miles.

haha, great storyMany moons ago I was taking delivery of my '95 Probe GT that I ordered. As I was talking to the dealer rep the dealer's kid pulled into the lot practically sideways in a customer's car. He came squealing to a stop a couple spots away and got out of the car. When he noticed me and the rep staring at him he said, "What?!" The rep replied in a disgusted voice, "Nothing."
I turned to the rep and said, "He goes no where near my car." The rep agreed.
That brat ended up rolling his own Probe GT a couple months later.
Needless to say, I never shopped at that dealership ever again and I made sure to tell everyone I met what I had witnessed.
So yeah. It could vary well have been driven quite hard already.
My 2021 Porsche Carrera had a mandatory 4K RPM limit. If exceeded computer kept a record and this could invalidate the warranty. New motor is $70K. You can bet I never went past 4K! Over 110 MPH at 4k. Was not too hard to do. Sold car due to being 6'4" with a knee implant. Just too small and too much Beautiful cars!$$$$![]()
