Live fast, die fast. That's the way it goes with Whipple. I'm thinking of ordering a Procharger since they supposed to be ready for delivery.

A procharger is a supercharger

Less stress than a Roush or Whipple supercharger is what I should have asked

In theory procharger should be less stress.

I.E.
Centrifugal less stress than roots or twinscrew. Whipple is twinscrew

Procharger is driven off the crank, which induces additional stress on the internals over the additional PSI. Only a turbocharger is going to avoid this, as it is driven by exhaust gases.

But most street Procharger HO are set at only 6.5 lbs boost. True engine might wear out with one. With the others, they place stress on your entire drive line. Don't forget all the weight us Mustang drivers complain about. I heard the Whipple weighs upwards of 200 lbs.

You can pulley the Whipple to produce only 6.5 pounds of boost, if you want. You can do the same with a turbo set up, or any blower or turbo.

On any of those options, 6.5 pounds of boost would add more than 100 horsepower.

True. But can you cut a few lbs's and decrease Whipples 160 lbs down to prochargers 47 lbs?

Is there a major downside to having an automatic with a procharger?
With a 6 speed you'd be best to go with a 4.10 axle. With an A10 you'll beat the 6 speed through the entire powerband. A10s win races MT-82s are more fun. If losing is a way to have fun.
