Gear Selector Accent Tim Piece

All automatics I have seen have letters "P" (park), "R" (reverse), "N" neutral, "D" (drive), and "M" (manual?). Mine has "L" instead of "M". The "L" is my manual shift position. My VIN is under 500.
Anyone know why may be different? What does "L" stand for?

Did you check your 2024 Mustang Owner's Manual?

L = Low without paddle shifters

I have paddle shift and no "M". Putting lever in "L" allows me to manually shift with paddles.

if you have paddle shifters but have the gear bezel with the "L", your vehicle was misbuilt. if you took delivery recently, notify your dealer so that they can notify Ford and get a replacement one at no cost. even if it has been a bit since you took delivery, i still recommend bringing it up with your dealer
