Average of 19 in the mountains over the first 850 miles. Sure it would be better on a straight away, but that's no fun!

I just don't get buying a 50-60K car and cheaping out on 87 Octane gas. Do you use the cheapest non synthetic oil also? If the gas is that much of a problem maybe you should have bought an ecoboost.
On the contrary...I change engine, differential gearbox and brake oil frequently using only the best synthetics because I track the car.
If I know I will go on a road trip, public roads and no shenanigans,, I don't see what I gain cycling high octane in the tank since I won't miss the 2% HP extra, and I won't stress the engine to make it knock. I do use top tier high volume fill stations only too, so I know their regular isn't junk.

The first 1,000 miles, I used 87 Octane and got about 14-15 MPG. I'm over 3,000, using 93 Octane and get about 18.5 MPG. Coincidence? I'll let you guys decide. Either way, I drove an F-150 Ecoboost, so I'm use to the mileage 😂

What are you guys getting for gas mileage. My car will mostly be used around town. I will not be hot rodding it any at all, just maybe getting on it somewhat in 2nd gear coming off of a redlight.
I have a little over 300 miles 90% around town driving 4th, 5th, & sometimes 6th gear if I can keep it above 2000 RPM.
I was getting 13-14 MPG until I took it on a 20 mile road trip mostly in 6th gear. Mileage shot up to 20 mpg. I'm back to 18 mpg now.
93 Octane Shell is what I'm burning.

Love seeing this pop up on forums. My car's MSRP was $60k and I've put 93 in it less than 5 times. Drives fine, goes fast as hell, and saves money.

Why you may ask? The owner's manual and gas cap literally say 87 octane. No reason to waste money on 93 when most of my driving is commuting. And yes, I do drive the car like Is stole it. I promise the Ford engineers know more about this engine (4th gen btw) than any of the forumites who complain about how others buy gas 😂

Don’t forget, certified performance was documented using premuim.

93 octane - 653 miles between post #24 and this one. Mostly highway (i81 - east coast) for the 653 but parts included the sections of town that it takes to get to and from the highway/freeway and then the occasional traffic jam / roadblock during.

Trip 1 data is from the day she was born, it has not been reset since taking delivery (9/22/23).
