I purchased the Ford Performance Pedals (M-2301-BM) which includes a new accelerator pedal assembly and covers for the brake and clutch pedals. These pedal covers replace the stock rubber pedal covers.

When going to install these, I noticed that the rubber on the new pedals is much less flexible than the rubber on the old pedals. Additionally the "bezel" that wraps around the metal part of the pedal is also quite a bit larger than the old pedal...

Old pedal on the top, new on the bottom...

The bezel differences are:

2024 Stock PedalPerformance Pedal
Top Bezel Thickness7.4mm12.65mm
Bottom Bezel Thickness9.75mm10.2mm
Side Bezel Thickness (each side)7.2mm10.8mm

I can get the stock pedal cover on/off easily, but the performance pedal cover will not go on. The Ford Performance instructions say to get a trim tool behind the cover and pry it over the metal but the rubber is not as flexible as the old cover and with the increased thickness the cover will not "stretch" over the metal pedal structure.

Has anybody been able to install these pedal covers? I tried trimming down the rubber bezel to match the stock one, but I still cannot get the new cover to go over the pedal. Does anybody know if the S650 pedal structure is different than the 550's?

Whenever I needed to install performance pedals, I always put them into hot/boiling water for a few minutes to make them more flexible and thus easier to install....

I was able to install mine, but it was a real PITA. Had to stretch the new ones on a work bench for a bit to loosen them up, and then used multiple trim tools to work my way around. Doable, but tough. The hot water trick is probably a good one to try

I was able to finally get them on, thanks to Saleen032 for the tip. I couldn't get the trim tool behind the pedal but after a few tries (and some minor burns) I was able to get the pedal covers around using my fingers and a lot of pressure/stretching.
