After watching DFB5.0 and 5.0ALM all week busy cleaning, was feeling a little ashamed how grubby my beast had gotten with all wind and dry storms....while on roster, it just sits and waits till my first day off.
The amount of info from you guys is truly amazing, thankyou for sharing, no bother posting my cleaning stuff....it's a bucket, foam cannon, cleaning mitt and drying towel
......but I have cheated, full Xpel ppf and Gyeon Infinite coating on all external surfaces except the shark fin including coating on wheels and calipers...and inside got full Gyeon treatment as well. Was also very fortunate that the team at Auto Protective did the engine bay as a bonus.
Cold Start
First time in a week I have started N1T3MRE, so track mode it is
Job 1
Reseat driver side duct from grille to air box.....once filter out of way took all of 30 seconds....didn't take pic before but most of duct on LHS of photo was closing off intake. Soft tube that sits behind grid
Passenger duct with filter
but filters very dirty for 1000km.....note to invest in good quality reusable filters
Job 2
Noticed rocks in between the mating joints on the under body cooling at the rear
Pretty easy to do too, 5*6mm screws, 2*10mm bolts and 2 plastic pins, drops down but still connected to brackets at dif end.......note to buy foam tape so rocks don't vibrate back in or pushed under air pressure
Weight reduction complete
On to cleaning........
2 weeks of storms and winds, and it is filthy
Quick low pressure rinse, coat of foam, was rims, rinse and repeat.....and hey presto, quick selfie and back in the shade to dry
