Ended up with a Dark horse

Little late to posting this as I received my car a few months ago … So funny story. I’m located in Northwest Indiana, and I originally ordered a grabber blue GT performance pack with just about every single option and Recaros. I saw that my dealer that I’ve done business with since high school had a dark horse come in and it was literally 3000 more than the car I ordered if we’re talking MSRP. I asked one of my best friends (the general manager) if he could do sticker and he said if we throw on a extended warranty and tire care, you got it. And he let me know that I can cancel them later if I want to. My thinking was wow this is a car I didn’t think I could get for literally 3000 more plus the warranties and at the time the factories were shutting down and he said your car probably won’t get built for about a year. so I walked out with probably their only dark horse they will get lol and a week later my car showed up lmao. I went to check it out of course and it was beautiful, but no regrets. The dark horse is honestly the best Mustang I’ve ever owned! But if anybody is located in Northwest Indiana or is looking for a loaded up GT performance pack, he still has it and he’s asking 1000 over sticker because it was ceramic coated! Maybe if they are paying over MSRP! And to be honest, I get some people really want the car but the people that pay that price are the reason the dealers get away with it, but they might add a lot of value to haha! Your car is beautiful and pretty much the best color for that car in my opinion! This is my 15th Mustang I’ve owned and after owning the previous generation this is one of the first times I feel like I actually got an upgrade and my moneys worth. Soon to be boosted so we will see how these cars hold up under pressure! Enjoy yours brotha!

Tell me about it smhh lol there’s a lot that needs to be fixed at this house but I paid 23,000 cash out of high school for this house on a foreclosure auction and have slowly fixed most things lol Im 26 now. No excuses either, Im a union Carpenter. Currently being stored at my work because of that reason . I would be devastated if I walked into that garage and something gave out

i was in a similar boat, except i ordered a Dark Horse with a plan for a GT if i couldn't get it. the difference between the two was about $3000 or $4000. with that small of a gap, jumping to a Dark Horse with all the cool extras it gets makes sens

Congratulations on the car. Looks Awesome. But you might want to consider upgrading where you park it. Don't look to structurally sound, especially with the snow that you guys get in Indy. I live in the Chicago area so I know about snow as well especially in Indy. Wish you the best of luck. Gorgeous Car.

Actually, I have a three car garage at the house, so I take two of my winter cars and park them there during the summer so have two of them at home, and the other two on the bottom. I don’t like having cars in my driveway overnight, so with 7 vehicles had found a great solution.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to toss in my $0.02 on this - those people are looking at a base model GT versus an unoptioned DH and complaining about the price difference. You are effectively getting a fully loaded 401A - Plus 14 more HP - when you make that jump, and IIRC according to the build website the Dark horse would cost a smidge less than a FOO GT Premium.

People are looking at the wrong numbers. It's not worth arguing with a willingly uninformed person IMO.

If you want a GT buy a GT and don’t criticize those that’s have made a choice that better fits their wants. A GT will always be a GT no matter how many options you put on it.
