Hey everyone, I'm writing from Italy and I'm eagerly waiting to pick up my new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse in Vapor Blue, with a manual transmission and Recaro seats.

I should be able to bring it home in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to the information I found on this forum, I've already bought some accessories since the European version of the Mustang is a bit different from the one sold in the USA.

Specifically, I've purchased an RTR spoiler, the original splitter from the Dark Horse Premium (in Europe, the car comes with a smaller splitter), the Steeda X Pipe, and the K&N intake system.

Unfortunately, here in Europe, the Dark Horse is sold with 453 hp instead of the 500 hp in the USA, so I'd like to bring it up to full power.

I know the ECU can't be remapped, so I was wondering if this is still the case in the USA or if any tuners have managed to unlock it.

In Europe, this situation happened at the end of 2020 with the ECUs of some BMWs, but after some time, tuners managed to unlock them.

Thanks a lot in advance, everyone!

Tuning is still locked; world round.

You could add some headers (with or without cats; your choice your risk) however that might cause issues for emissions or roadside inspections for you.

It's also loud AF.

I went with the Steeda H Pipe on my DH and I'm glad I didn't get the headers on top of that. My neighbors can all already hear me cold start in the garage for at least 2-3 houses in each direction LOL

Welcome to M7G!

Tuning is still locked but just get some seat time and learn the car and I suspect you’ll find it quite fun. I’ve ridden in the area many years ago, the Dark Horse will be right at home on many roads local to you

Thanks everyone for the advice.
I hope the ECU can be remapped at some point like it used to be.
In the meantime, I'll wait and enjoy the car in its stock version.
I hope the Steeda X Pipe and the K&N intake system can give me some power benefits even without the ECU remap and won't cause any lean fuel issues.
As soon as I get the car back, I'll post some photos.
Ciao

Don't worry too much about the power deficit. It is all at the very top end and below 5500rpm there is pretty much no difference. Unless you track it there will be no difference.
Have you driven in Italy?
:sunglasses:

It’s like ... the Continental European version of the US State of North Carolina, in which all drivers grow up with the impression that they are Dale Earnhardt.

I think it was right around or in Bergamo where I saw some woman on a scooter take the inside line from someone moving slower heading into a roundabout.

Hi everyone,
I am looking to gather some information from Mustang owners regarding tire sizes. Recently, I purchased a set of Velgen Classic 5 V2 wheels, 20x10 for the front and 20x11 for the rear, and I am now trying to figure out the best tire sizes to match them. Considering that the European Mustang Dark Horse comes standard with 255/40-19 tires in the front and 275/40-19 tires in the rear, I would love to hear your recommendations on what tire sizes you would mount on these Velgen wheels.
Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!

Don't know the offset for your stuff but I run the same size + width and have them wrapped in 285/35R20 and 315/35R20. I'm also lowered on Sport Progressive springs.

I ordered wheels with Front: 20x10 +34 offset and Rear: 20x11 +52 offset.
I also got the lowering progressive springs for the suspension.
For tires, I was thinking of 275/35-20 F and 305/35-20 R, hoping I won't have any clearance issues in the wheel wells

On Friday, I picked up (or rather, I had a friend pick up for me because unfortunately, I have a cast on my ankle due to a motorcycle accident) my new Mustang Dark Horse.

I can't drive it and won't be able to for another 30 days, but it's finally home.

I noticed something strange that I can't explain, so I'm asking here if anyone knows anything about it: the car, which has a Tremec manual transmission, still has the paddles on the steering wheel like the automatic versions.

I think they might have mistakenly installed the steering wheel from the automatic version on my manual one, since neither the instruction manual nor the dealership could explain what the paddles are for on a manual Mustang.

Does anyone know anything about this?

That's exactly what I thought too!
I'll post a photo as soon as I can.
It's the exact same steering wheel, with the same paddles, that's on the automatic version... but mine is manual!
I think they made a mistake and installed the steering wheel from one version onto the other

Hello and congratulations on your purchase! From which part of Italy are you writing? Maybe if we are "close" we can meet when my DH arrives too! šŸ˜‰
