Hey, everyone!

I have a DH Premium and snagged the HP Splitter kit (OEM) from LMR recently.

Besides the fact that it wasn't really protected during shipping and had a ding on it right out of the box (another story for another day) I'm having problems getting it installed and was curious if I have received the wrong parts. They look right. They look like what's in the instructions from Ford (which also suck).

There two parts to it. The upper splitter, which I had no problem installing, and a lower splitter which looks more like a belly pan.

The instructions from Ford are ambiguous at best. But now I'm starting to wonder if they sent the wrong thing. The lower splitter's latticework of plastic squares that are on top are too tall and bump into the mounting point about a half inch before it can be flush with the upper splitter.

Pictures included... which aren't good but it's the best I can do at the angle in my driveway.

Has anyone tried to install this on a non-HP DH, yet? Am I supposed to manhandle the upper splitter to force the edge of the lower splitter into it like a tab/slot? Thanks! :)

As I recall, it was kind of a P.I.T.A.
And yes, the lower splitter does go 'into' the upper splitter.

The front edge of the lower splitter sits on top of the bottom ledge of the upper splitter, and those little protrusions, just below your red circle, all along the front edge of the lower splitter will line up with the screw holes on the bottom side of the upper splitter.
There are like 87 screws that need to be put in there to hold the upper and lower splitters together.
Not really 87, but it'll feel like it by the time you get them all installed.

I think the splitter is different for the HP vs the non HP versions. Don't force it if it doesn't seem to fit right. Need some people who have installed these to weigh in.

Okay, so that's the info I was looking for. Thank you!

The issue I'm having is getting the lower splitter lip into the upper splitter compartment. My lower splitter fits in there on the sides no problem. I hear a little click when the screw tabs on the lower splitter align with the holes in the upper splitter. I have a trim tool that I slide between them and helps get everything into place. But when I get to the middle area of the lower splitter, it's unable to go up high enough to let the middle of the lower splitter into the upper splitter. Even with my trim tool. I got my eye balls between them and was able to see (but sadly not take a picture of) where those upper holes I've circles are deforming under the pressure and only go up so much before the mash into car guts and go no further even with extreme force. Did you have to do something crazy to fight yours or did it just slip into the middle with reasonable force/effort?

I'm wondering if this lower splitter is wrong somehow like Dark650 said.

Well... Holy crapples. I got the POS installed. I decided to stop worrying about breaking things and manhandle the MF into place. I mean it was REALLY wild how hard I had to push (with a trim tool prying DOWN on the upper splitter) to get it to pop into place. Whew! 😡

But when I heard pop-pop-pop-pop-pop and the center was snapping into place I was relieved.

You did and I finally took it and went in swinging. 🍻

It was awful doing it on ramps. If it was on a lift, I'd probably complain less. 😅
