Going to start installing a dash cam in the '24 Convertible and trying to figure out how to remove the passenger side A-pillar trim in order to run a wire to the dash cam mounted near the rear view mirror. I'm hard wiring it so can't use the USB port. Anyone know how to remove/reinstall this trim piece on a convertible? Thanks!

I can't answer your question. But the Geek Squad did a great job installing my dash camera on GT convertible without removing anything. Get professional help

normally they are just grab and tug to release the clips from the slots in the A pillar.

There is an airbag in back of the cover, you will probably find the cover has a tether on it to keep it from being shot across the car if the bag should deploy.

Do not just pull, watch this Gen6 video first.
I presume Gen7 is very similar.

Just curious. Why not use the USB at the mirror?

I'm using parking mode with an add-on battery pack that requires 12 volts volts to recharge. It's. hardwired to the fuse box using an add-a fuse connector and uses a fuse location that is powered when the ignition is on (Accessory mode). The USB port is only 5 volts. Hope that helps.

Thanks. Useful information. I am just beginning to look into dash cams, so starting from zero.

You're welcome! I'm a newbie also as I only started looking a couple of months ago myself. Good luck!
