Would like to thank Ford for putting the wheel locking lug nuts in the glove box for the option of using them and not putting them on from the factory. Personally I dislike them and now I don't have to purchase 4 lug nuts and switch them out.

I'd like to think most manufacturers do same. But yes, agree.

My thought is, they don't ship installed for convenience reasons. If they have to change the tire or something isn't going right, there's no lost key, no delays looking for a key, etc. The vehicle is either going to be in a rail car, in a fenced yard or on a truck, so risk of wheel theft in transit is slight.

I also agree, I don't like them on...

However I would like to shame FORD for finding the most god awful ugly locking lugs they could find. They stick out a mile !!!
Might as well not even include them , as no one who wants their car to look nice could ever use them. I was kinda pissed when I put one on , and had to laugh out loud how stupid it looked.

A bigger issue as far as I am concerned is that Ford still uses lug nuts that are not solid and have the caps that eventually expand / distort which means the lug wrench may no longer fit at some point. I have had that happen on multiple cars, so I immediately ordered replacement solid lug nuts for my car.

I have a nice set of chrome Gorilla locks one for each lug nut.

Mine came in a bag in the trunk with my front plate bracket

4 1/2 months later that is where they still are

For those in the north and other places where the OEM capped lug nuts swell up making use of the stock lug wrench futile a company called Steelman (look on Amazon) makes +.5 mm sockets (18.5, 19.5, 21.5 22.5) that at least in my shop are a time saver (my shop is in NH) and they are short money... like cheap enough that you will not hesitate in buying one for your car. Just keep a breaker bar and short extension in the car when you are on the road.

Unfortunately I forget the size used on the Mustang, and I am too lazy to walk out to the garage to find out, so you are on your own to find the right one for your application.

PS if someone is looking to grab your wheels, and Mustangs are not a car where they are stolen often (Honda's are, I have done DOZENS of insurance claims for stolen wheels, including one on a car with 73 miles on it where not only did they take the wheels they caved the rocker panel in doing it) chances are they are coming with a battery operated impact and the tool we use in the trade to remove wheel locks, especially Mag Guard ones which are the easiest to defeat. You don't leave the wheel lock where I can find it and I don't have a key in my collection, I charge an extra .5 to remove the locks but in reality in a hurry I could do it in under a minute a wheel

I have new set of FORD locking lugs (actually made by McGard) and 20 relatively new stock lug nuts (taken off 2 times). Let me know. Went with spliced solid lug nuts.

Mine came with the locking lugs installed, and another set in a bag in the trunk.

They usually put the stock lugs in the lock package and leave them for the customer depending on the dealership.

I didn't have them install them during the PDI and threw the locking lugs in the garbage when I got home.

Mine also came in a sealed plastic bag with the Front License Plate Bracket in the Trunk.
The dealer installed them and put one Regulator Lug Nut in the bag with the Locking Key Nut put it in the Console.
The Locking Key has been relocated.
Since I have a Spare Tire the Locking Lug Nut can not be used with the Spare Tire.
I left them on.
If I have a Flat Tire I will call Roadside Assistance.
