I ordered the American Muscle Clutch Pedal Spring. They advertised that it fits ALL 15-24 mustangs except the GT350 and 500. Well it doesn't fit the Dark Horse. The spring diameter is much smaller then the stock spring. I couldn't muscle the stock spring back in and had to drive it to my mechanic's shop. He couldn't muscle it in either. He compressed the spring and held it compressed with a zip tie and got it inserted and then he cut the tie. I don't think the Steeda spring will work either since it appears to be the same part number for the GT and Dark Horse.

Sorry things didn't work out. The stock spring is a PITA to work with. Typically, needle-nose vice grips and tie wraps are needed to compress and hold when removing or installing.

From what I remember, the Steeda spring will work in the S650 perch. But we can confirm with @tj@steeda .

While we're getting insight on that, TJ, can you give us any update on an S650 perch? Is it still under development, or has that been overtaken by other product rollouts?

Thank You.

I had no problem installing the Steeda assist spring in my Dark Horse but they do have different skus for s550 and s650. Maybe AM incorrectly assumed the s550 spring would fit the s650?

In the S550 forums, AM doesn't have a good rep, either in the products they sell or shipping materials used to protect purchased items.

YMMV.

Just talked our internal team - they are very pleased with the strength of the OE perch, therefore, they don't feel a replacement is necessary.

No further plans to develop at this time.
