I would imagine the management chain would only do something about it if they were flooded with emails from potential customers. And history shows us that people prefer to do nothing, so they can whinge about it later.

IM thinking, pessimistically, that if the ecoboost has no manual option and GT is being offered as auto ONLY in NZ that this will be an issue with manuals, not properly mirrored. Which will be a massive shame.

My current car is a manual made in Japan and they drive on the LHS like us, no conversion required - anything in the front cup holder gets in the way of shifts. Slightly annoying but def not a deal breaker for me.

Came across these images of the S550 center console parts recently, and it just re-inforced how easy it would have been for Ford to manufacture a proper mirrored center console for their RHD market.

Whether you're a manual or auto guy is irrelevant, it's about doing the job properly.

The actual cup holder insert sub-assy would remain the same.

And considering there is no mechanical linkage for the S650's handbrake, it would have been trivial to bolt the "handbrake request lever" on either side of the transmission hump, and adjust the top piece to suit.

Shame on you Ford.

This tiny extra bit of development to make it appropriate for your RHD market would have softened the blow of the S650s ~AUD$15k price increase over a similarly speced S550.

If only ADR made it compliant for every thing must change to the of RHD ford would have no choice.

Considering the e-brake is a 'button', maybe someone here can manufacture a part for under $40k where we can mirror it and just relocate the wiring?

This what I did on the S550 in the cupholders. Used screwtop jars as they are perfect to screw into the tabletop, and if you need cupholders you just chuck the table in the back seat.. but if you are stopped..a table top is very handy..
