Greetings all, within the next few months I will be getting rid of my super slow, but good looking Dodge Challenger Widebody. I’m going to buy a GT and put a whipple on it, but I’m having trouble locating a clear answer regarding letting a certified shop do it vs doing it myself. I’ve heard when you let a shop do it it’s a 3yr/30k warranty. Is that just for the SC or both Sc and engine. Also for those that have a whippled mustang, how is the low end torque, because that’s something I’m looking for.

Driving normal (low end torque) will feel like stock. As far as warranty I would just have ford do it.

There’s a difference between having a piece of paper that says you have a warranty and actually getting said warranty to cover something that blew up because you used the aftermarket supercharger for it‘s intended purpose.

Point is, if you’re very much concerned with warranty don’t get a supercharger. If you do then consider any warranty you get a fortunate circumstance. Alternatively buy a nice low milage GT500 with a factory supercharger from a Ford dealer and buy an actual Ford-issued extended service contract. Only then can you be sure you’re good to go.

Whipple does not get you a Ford warranty, a Ford Performance kit, made by Whipple does.

And it does not cover a whole lot.

There is a dollar limit on it, something like $2500

To get any warranty coverage from Ford Performance it has to be dealer installed, or installed by a tech holding current valid A.S.E. credentials and they have to register it.

As I have said on here before, I looked into getting mine done down in FL where the car lives, there were plenty of authorized sellers with ASE techs, but once I drove the car I found it was enough for me, and I put the 15 grand I set aside for the Ford Performance kit, catch cans, fluids, and a few other things towards different toys.
