Hello everyone,

I want to ask for explanations or thoughts on the alignment issue I have been experiencing with the new 20in wheels setup.

I recently installed steed magneride progressive sport lowering springs and a set of 20in wheels along with other suspension parts like stop the hop, K member brace and BMR camber plates.

The first shop who installed everything for me told me because how mustang suspension is set up, they need to put different cambers on front wheels. The front strut mount is not symmetrical between driver and passenger side. The camber is more aggressive on the passenger side. But the steering wheel is straight.

I went to second shop to do alignment again after a week to let the springs settle. The second shop put same camber for the front but the steering wheel is tilted to the left. I went back again this week, but they struggled to have the steering wheel completely straight saying because of the D cut shape of it. However, they did fix the wheel balancing issue from the first shop.

I don't understand why it is so difficult to do a perfect alignment on my car. Is it my luck with the shops? Or the lowered mustang can't be aligned perfectly? Please help. I am in SoCal area, if anyone has any recommendations for alignment shops, please share it with me. I am really bugged with the steering wheel not being straight. Thanks in advance.

Sounds familiar. I had to go to 4 alignment shops before it got done right on my M1 with progressive springs. And they would all use the lowering springs and camber plates as an excuse for why they couldn't do it right. Either it pulled, the camber was off on one side, or the steering wheel was crooked. It was just excuse after excuse until someone finally got it right after bitching about it the whole time. I literally have PTSD over that shit. I will never lower a car again for that reason. 🤦‍♂️

Wow. I am shocked. I am sorry you had to go through all of that to get it done correctly. I wish someone can recommend a shop in SoCal so I can get it right the third try. Smh...

Try to find a shop that specializes in track alignments and or exotic cars. They should be used to doing lowered cars. Good luck.
