Our 2024 Mustang GT Convertible has adaptive cruise control which in the last 8 months has started having problems where it will give a warning that it will not operate and it quits working. To correct the issue, we have to turn the car off, get out and wipe off the radar unit down low in the grill, and then get back in and start the car. This usually works, but seems to be occurring more frequently. We feel that we are driving on paved roads that are not overly dirty which could lead to dirt being thrown up on the radar unit. Has anyone else been experience with their adaptive cruise system?

@Boykin4 ..... only once, same issue, got diverted to a country side road due to a highway construction detour, and dust and dirt blocked the unit. Wiped the area - never happened again.

If the car is stock, I’d opt for a stealership visit. It sounds like it needs to be re-aimed or recalibrated. We see this in the Raptor world when the sensor is relocated for a bumper or other mod.

Where is the radar unit located?

I had this problem. Dealership just needs to update the computer. Fixed the problem.

I have this problem now. Also pre-collision assst not available. Dealer found codes for cruise control module (CCM) & tried to do a driving CCM “alignment”. Failed twice. CCM ordered. Follow up appointment in 2 weeks.

Update. Dealer installed new CCM. Problem not resolved. Now they’re telling me me it because of my new 20” wheels & tires that I put on 4 months ago & that I have to put the original 19” setup back on. WTF! Does that make sense to anyone? I see lots of people changing wheels & tires on this forum & not having this problem. Please advise.
