. My dealer said their ford rep told them that the sc’s are undergoing quality inspections and oktb has not been granted yet. No SC’s can be released until oktb is granted. He said there was no eta on when that will happen, however ford has stated they will hold launch cars for 3-6 weeks to be sure cars are being produced consistently. There is an internal delivery date range that is visible with my order however i will not share that date because i do not want to cause confusion.
It’s possible but i don’t think so. If it was a part then i find it hard that they would continue production with a defective part. I think it is a launch hold like the rep said and anything they find/found is relatively minor. It could be something like a problem with alignment gaps or a software calibration issue. Those issues would not cause ford to stop production. The cars that are affected would me moved to the rework area and fixed and then they would monitor the next batch of vehicles to see that the issues is not being reproduced. It’s very complicated and very simple at the same time. Long story short ford is either not satisfied or does not have enough vehicles (data) yet to confidently grant the ok to buy, which would allow for the vehicles to be released for shipping. Once they are satisfied with how the cars are produced and/or they have enough vehicles to determine that sample size is large enough with no foreseeable issues, then the cars will be released and finally starting getting into dealers and customers hands .
