In looking at the parts online, it appears the PP and non-PP have different coolers.
Edit: Upon closer inspection of the PP cooler diagram, it appears the non-PP cooler is also a part of the PP system. In the bottom PP photo you can see that part #2 is the same as part #1 in the non-PP photo...
Iāve had no trouble with my GT PP on the track except for the axle overheating, which was solved by adding the cooler.
For daily or āspiritedā driving, I imagine these cars are fine with the regular transmission cooler. I do know the 10 speed in my F250 works best when it is HOT!
My understanding is that the PP has a larger radiator, larger transmission cooler and adds an engine oil cooler. The Dark Horse adds a differential cooler which is not included on the GT PP.
The only cooler I have added to my GT PP is the differential cooler.
I have a PP, and on the track in 90 plus degree ambient temperatures the transmission stays right around 220. Iāve had the axle overheat before I added a cooler, but never have had the transmission temperature up to 230. Of course with the PP, I have the extra coolers. Oil temperature does get...
I am thinking along the same lines. I donāt see how you could possibly get air bubbles in the fluid at the calipers, which is the most likely place for them, out by actuating the ABS module. The brake system is not a loop where fluid cycles through it; that is the whole reason the brakes work...
Very interesting. Iām assuming you have to actually use some sort of Ford computer tool to perform a bleed this way. Iāve looked and did not see an option in Forscan. Fortunately the old fashion way works as well.
How is a full system flush done? Is the fluid drained through the calipers?
Iāve flushed the brake fluid in mine once and then bled them a couple more times between track events. I put the car in brake service mode and use a Motive power bleeder. Start at passenger rear, then driver rear, passenger front, driver front. Bleed the inside of the caliper first then the...
To clarify for anyone researching, the only difference in the GT PP and the Dark Horse brakes, which both have the 6 piston front and 4 piston rears, are the front rotors. The Dark Horse has two piece front rotors while the GT PP has one piece. However, the Dark Horse and GT PP front rotors...
I agree. I created a thread probably a year ago basically saying the same thing. I love the 10R80 in my 24 GT. I have started tracking it, and it is really impressive how well it does on the track as well. The 10 speed in my 2019 GT was pretty good, but this one is great. As you said, with...
Iām not exactly sure. They told me the wheel was ready to pick up, and when I got there I couldnāt find anyone in the shop, but my wheel was sitting there so I just grabbed it and left. Iām assuming it just didnāt get seated well as I canāt imagine any debris having been on the tire or wheel...
Iām looking for some insight from those with more wheel/tire experience than me. I bought some new Steeda Trident wheels and Continental EC Force tires for track use this year. I had the tires mounted by Steeda a few months back, but never installed the wheels and tires on the car. This evening...
I built the same size shop at our farm a couple years back and found that putting in an HVLS fan made the biggest difference. I put one in the other shop after the fact because even with the a/c running it didnāt āfeelā cool. The HVLS fan made a huge difference, so I went ahead and had the...
Iāve been surprised at how well the spray foam insulates it. Even with two 12x12 roll up doors and four single pane windows, the mini split has no trouble keeping the temperature level. Now, weāll see what happens when itās 95 degrees with 100% humidity, which will happen in a few months. š
So after saying I haven't changed my oil in 10 years and prefer to pay someone, I may end up making a liar out of myself. I got my car up on the new lift for the first time this weekend to get prepped for the next track day, and figured I might as well do it myself while I had it up...
I will say this, enjoy the kids while they are home. We made a lot of sacrifices raising our kids, but I wouldn't trade a minute of it. Even if I never were able to get a sports car or build a nice shop, I'd sacrifice it all again.
I'm in South Georgia, so I can pretty much enjoy my car year round, but from December through April I'm working so much there isn't a whole lot of fun to be had. Living in a warm climate is great for auto enthusiasts. I spent most of my early years in places with snow, and that is certainly...
