I donāt mind that you arenāt if you donāt mind that I am. Iāve evidently been plagued with insecurity my entire life and never knew it until now.
Uh-oh. Houston, we have a problem! What if you really donāt care what other people think?
I assume that comment was made in jest but if one reads all the relevant messages in this thread and thinks about it a bit, well maybeā¦
Sensibilities are often age and regionally influenced. Just a part of human nature.
Finally busted 200 miles on my new DH today on a beautiful 95 mile romp through the N GA curvies. 55* outside and the big Trofeos were hanging tight. The Recaros werenāt exactly made for my 5-10/255 frame but Iām coming around to them. Busting down the bolsters is probably more like it.
Stopped...
I know this works but Iāve never quite understood the math behind it. Seems like both front wheels going over a rise at the same time would yield more ground clearance than one at the time.
Yeah, uhhh no. Not even close, technically or otherwise. I have both and love āem both but thereās really no point of comparison.
Iām not suggesting one is better than the other, itās nothing more than a preference. But driving a 10R80 in manual mode is pretty much what we did with a...
They really are, even stock. Yet tractable, reliable and consistent.
For us older guys sometimes itās hard to believe. We really had to dance around to get close to these numbers back in the day. Now you just check tire pressure and throw in some 93 and boom, youāre there!
Unsure is a good descriptor.
Iād say the light feel is totally different from the S550 cars. Iām not sure how they made the steering ratio quicker yet simultaneously made the effort lighter. I guess unlike pre EPAS days steering effort isnāt directly related to steering ratio and they can...
Nope, 100% the other way on mine. Not even close. So light it was disconcerting to tell the truth. Mine had the 255/40-19 Contis on it, donāt know if that was a factor or not. Felt like the front tires had about 80 psi in them but they were adjusted perfectly. It was a great car but I just...
If my ā24 GT steered any lighter you could just mentally levitate it to turn itself without touching the steering wheel. Itās SO much lighter feeling effort to turn compared to my ā23s that itās frankly a bit disconcerting.
It is kinda fun, isnāt it?
My fave is when guys keep saying exactly the same thing over and over but change the words around in an attempt to sound more erudite.
Thank you. My point exactly.
No one has an obligation to substantiate his opinion to anyone else. I personally donāt care to try, in this case anyway.
I thought I had been clear about this but apparently not.
Maybe, but here in the great free state of GA we prefer holster pockets. Seems to be a good workable compromise.
Ahhh, you touched a nerve for me with that āold fashionedā thing. In a good way I should say!
My situation is a little different in that my Mustangs are toys, not DDs. About the...
Greg I couldnāt agree more with your first emboldened phrase above. To do otherwise is irritating.
But your second phrase Iāve emboldened, well not so fast! By definition an opinion held by a person doesnāt need to be affected by anything logical, scientific or otherwise. Thereās no need for an...
Greg, being serious for a moment I think your comment goes right to the heart of a prime reason for the world being so polarized today. Whether technology is or is not proven, accurate and even sensible isnāt always the deciding factor in itās acceptance. It often comes down to nothing more than...
Hey Keith at the risk of watering down a really tantalizing discussion, whatās a 2024.5 Dark Horse? Is that really a thing? Mine was late production (blend 10/09/24) so just wondered if thereās some difference.
OK man, time to come clean!
I think I may have it figured outš¤£.
Is it true that you were the head engineer on the A.S.S. system many years ago and continue to be paid a per unit royalty every time one leaves the factory?
My recently purchased DH had only arrived at the dealership a few days earlier yet it was proudly sitting on the showroom sporting a green window sticker. And oh yeah, three grand ADM. Hmmm, wonder what may have happened there?š¤«
Ford may have used this as an opportunity for an extra press...
