  1. Cars 1964 to present

Umm no, not unless your name was Smokey Yunick. I enjoy a trip down memory lane much as the next guy but you gotta watch out for the potholes.
  2. Cars 1964 to present

100% correct. But not a ā€œ429ā€, ever. And the only BBC to ever be rated at 430 hp by Chevrolet was the famous L88, which of course was never factory installed in any Impala. Having been not only an enthusiast in those days but also an actual dealer, facts matter to me. Maybe it’s not unfair to...
  3. Cars 1964 to present

No, I didn’t have you at all. I never heard of such a thing either.
  4. Cars 1964 to present

Iā€˜m thinking the bigger secret might have been that 429/430 Chevy.
  5. Cars 1964 to present

So just wondering, what brand 429/430 did your 1969 Impala SS come with?
  6. Lane keep assist tried to end me

Iā€˜m gonna get out on a limb here. If a person ever turns on lane keep assist for any reason whatsoever (maybe outside of a quick science experiment) they should give serious consideration to public transportation.
  7. Shelby American shows off GT350 and GT350R at Barret Jackon - well kind of

I doubt it. Just because they stop or suspend building a particular model (with Ford you never know when something will pop back up) it doesn’t mean that era is over. It often lives on whether in actual production or not. Witness Mach 1.
  8. Shelby American shows off GT350 and GT350R at Barret Jackon - well kind of

Dark Horse, Dark Horse R (and whatever other lettered variants I’m leaving out), GT3, GTD and so on and so on, they’re ’bout to get too much stuff going on all at the same time. It’s hard to keep straight what’s supposed to be what without a quick reference scorecard. And these ā€œnewā€ Shelby...
  9. Do these rear DH wheel locks look right to you?

Thank you Pecco! Puts my mind at ease.
  10. Do these rear DH wheel locks look right to you?

Mine are ā€œFord originalā€ too. Came on the car. I don’t care what they look like personally. Just making sure they were good to go and weren’t gonna fly off.
  11. Do these rear DH wheel locks look right to you?

Thanks Paul. I'm not so concerned about the looks, in fact i just noticed it. Just wanting to make sure itā€˜s like it should be.
  12. Do these rear DH wheel locks look right to you?

And they stick out like mine?
  13. Do these rear DH wheel locks look right to you?

No doubt you’re right about they stick out more on some wheels than others. The locks are close to flush with the regular lugs on my front wheels. I’d assume the locks are the same but my rear wheels are 11ā€ wide and the fronts are 10.5ā€. That would account for the difference.
  14. Do these rear DH wheel locks look right to you?

Do you remember if they stuck out like that when you had them?
  15. Do these rear DH wheel locks look right to you?

Yeah that looks a lot like mine. I probably should have said the ones on the front look about the same length as the non-locking lugs.
  16. Do these rear DH wheel locks look right to you?

The rear wheel lock lugs on my DH stand about 3/8ā€ give or take proud of the other lugs. They seem tight and the car drives fine. But given that I’m a notorious over torquer I thought I’d ask before I started leaning on them. I don’t have a lot of faith in current PDI chimps. Itā€˜s a HP car if...
  17. Who has received their Dark Horse with Handling Package?

Huh?? Don’t understand. How else would the HP come, packed in the trunk or something ?
  18. Ford has no clue who their customers our

snakeyes, you might want to listen to the two guys I quoted above. There are usually several ways of getting the exact same point across. There’s almost always a way to make your point without being offensively harsh, hyperbolic or pejorative. If you don’t want to draw poor reactions to your...
  19. Ford has no clue who their customers our

Who cares? I mean really, if you like it and can afford it get it. Or don’t. Your call. No point in disparaging someone’s decision because you couldn’t afford it or didn’t think it was a good value. And for the record, I had a 2022 Mach 1 and two 2023s. Still have a 2023 and a DH as well. I...
