This is what PTS shows for the 9-speaker left-hand drive config. I assume that some of these are 2-way speakers where Ford counts them as two speakers instead of one, because it only shows a total of 6 speakers wired to the DSP.
I posted the SSM here a while back. The SSM in no longer live in PTS since they released the newer Sync software. If you have not had any issues, consider yourself lucky. I see people on older Sync software constantly complaining about it on every Ford forum out there...
For sure it's Sync. Ford is aware and released an SSM to dealers months ago, and recently a new APIM update was released. A few people have gotten it already and said they noticed an immediate difference. Ford has not released it for me yet, but as soon as they do, I'll be firing up FDRS to...
Not to mention, wireless app projection between Sync and both Android and Apple phones is terrible. I only used a wired connection to prevent it from messing up all the time.
Not sure. I've seen TRON get broken by OTAs. An authorization code pops up in the TCU and connectivity stops working correctly.
I'll see what I can find out and report back.
Hmmm. Interesting.....so now there is conflicting info on this.
However, this would mean you would need to swap in a TRON enabled IPMA and then hope that FDRS authorizes it once it is installed.
From my understanding, FORScan won't even recognize the module is installed. From what I have been told from a few people that have newer vehicles, the modules in the TRON network do not show up in FORScan at all.
I am not 100% sure, tbh. If the IPMA comes from a vehicle that has everything working already, then it should just be some config changes needed to get them to work.
Be sure that whatever vehicle you pull the IPMA from is not running TRON encryption on it. The newer Ford vehicle are using TRON...
As mentioned by rocket, you can write the VIN yourself with FORScan. It is in block 19 of the IPMA.
I think the trickiest part in terms of programming would be what IPMA firmware to sideload that will allow everything to work properly. Also, does the GWM module software support 360...
On the F150, 360 views are enabled in the APIM here. Just pulled the ab data from a random 2024 Mustang and it shows an 8 in the field below which makes sense for rear camera only vehicles.
Yea, Sync 25017 is coming to previous model years eventually. That is the latest and greatest Sync software. Some 2022-2024 model year vehicles are already getting.
I meant to open up my key fob to see if I saw the frequency on it in there, but totally forgot. Keys are locked in my truck now while at work, so I will try to remember later. If you have your truck keys handy, pop it open and see if you see anything in there.
