  1. Dark Horse poorly received??

Generally speaking I haven't seen very many S650 Mustangs at all and I have never seen a Dark Horse in person. Part of that is where I live (Montana) but it is early spring so I expect to see more this summer. I am surprised to see several Dark Horse models for sale at msrp on the internet...
  2. Dark Horse poorly received??

I think most people will choose between 4 basic versions: Base/Premium and HP/Non HP. I dont think very many people are going to spend 9k on carbon wheels. And I would not option that factory wrap personally.
  3. Dark Horse poorly received??

A FULLY optioned DH to include the wrap and the carbon fiber wheels is 92k. I know some of those options are absurd but it is possible to price a DH really close to C8 3LT Z51 money
  4. Dark Horse poorly received??

Premium GT PP1 are coming in at 55-60k. Mustangs generally speaking are no longer a performance bargain. Ford priced these cars too close to competition they can't compete with. DH especially is in the ballpark of Corvette and M3/M4. If you absolutely HAVE to get a V8 with a manual then...
  5. Dark Horse poorly received??

No one has a problem comprehending your decision lol. You bought a DH because that is what you wanted which is fine. I simply said the M2 has better performance. It isn't personal against your decision.
  6. Dark Horse poorly received??

EVs like that would go into limp mode after one lap on a track. EVs report great 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. But they can do one of those before they get hot. EV performance cars especially first Gen ones aren't where they need to be yet.
  7. Dark Horse poorly received??

Unless you care about actual performance in which case the M2 is better
  8. Dark Horse poorly received??

This is just my opinion but there are 2 main reasons I don't have a DH. 1. It doesn't significantly outperform or differ much from a base GT. 15k more for a HP DH is a big ask when 15k in the aftermarket will make the GT perform better anyway. 2. A premium DH HP is now in the price range of...
  9. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

I definitely love my manuals but not too many are left these days
  10. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

Do you feel the same way about the S550 GT500 since it also came auto only?
  11. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

If you are used to a choppy big cam V8 or a high revving flat plane crank engine then sure the LT2 is probably a bit too tame. I'll also agree that inside the car even with top off the exhaust could be louder for sure.
  12. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

How many C8s have you driven and where? Because what you are describing is nothing like what I experience in mine.
  13. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

The Vapor blue does look insanely good. Ford Performance is supposed to be releasing the SC kit specifically for DH this summer. They just released the GT version not sure what the difference would be.
  14. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

I disagree that that the C8 is "numb" but if you are saying it is a lot less drama than a Mustang I 100% agree. My Mach 1 at the limit was pretty bouncy and loud. C8 is not.
  15. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

    No I went with the C8. M2 wasn't a consideration for me
  16. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

Hold up.....so at your track, base GTs with 10R80 are making hero runs of 11.8 when official testing has them at 12.1-12.2? Ok. I have seen some stock A10 GTs run high 11s so in good DA an 11.8 is possible. But C8s which in official testing run 11.2s are suddenly over half a second slower on...
  17. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

I am decades away from 65 and I do not think my C8 is "boring". The lack of a manual tranny is legit and if you have to have a manual then ok I get it. The LT2 C8 has so much more performance in acceleration and 1/4 mile and is faster on track too than a DH. The performance honestly isn't even...
  18. Cross shopping Dark Horse with C8/M4

I agree. I made my choice and went C8. It is not a boring car by any means
  19. Car and Driver Lightning Lap 2024 - Dark Horse Mustang Results

Or take the Tremec DCT from the GT 500. Mustangs (especially DH) are in the price range of cars with DCTs now. I think the A10 Transmission is good but a track focused car with an auto would be better with a DCT

The auto tranny was also having heat issues. Which is a concern to watch for sure.
