I think it's a very nuanced question and the answer is, it depends what you value and want out of the car as well as the spec you are after.
If power is all you want, it's not worth it. Go and buy a used S550 rspec for example and get much more power for less money. Or just buy the GT.
If...
Yeah, 122k drive away.
Mine is just confusing as hell. The layout of it is crap and doesn't make sense. When will you get pricing for yours? It would be interesting to see what yours come to.
For those that are interested. This is the price I was given for mine today.
A manual Dark horse in Blue ember.
What I find strange is that the Recaros are listed as included.
The screenshot of the order on the system also shows them:
Black Onyx and Indigo Recaro - So they are on the order for...
Oh yeah I agree. It would have been good to have all 500HP here for the DH. Would have been good to have the full 486HP for the GT as well. Instead the GT gets 465HP in Australia.
It is what it is. I''m just glad I can still buy a manual V8 in 2024. Hopefully by the time the warranty runs out...
In the US yes. Emission regulations here and in EU neuters it a little.
DH offers a lot more than just the horse power which in the US is also only 14HP more than a GT. Its not about the power. Its about track focus, exclusivity, extra cooling, and that Tremec and Torsen diff.
Yeah CarExperts article says its calibration and exhaust manifold. So by the time the warranty is gone, stick some Cooks headers on the thing, tune it and by then they will be unlocked.
Thats a common misconception. Weight isnt that much different. This from Carexperts specs and pricing article:
Kerb weight is as follows:
EcoBoost Fastback: 1746kg
GT Fastback manual: 1813kg
GT Fastback auto: 1841kg
GT Convertible: 1881kg
Dark Horse manual: 1822kg
Dark Horse auto: 1842kg...
I really hope for PS4S's as well. That is just such an excellent tyre.
Of course we dont even know yet what exactly we are getting, but I still prefer the Michelins. I have heard that the S550 Mustang used to come with the P-Zero Nero at some point I think. The S650's come with the P-Zero PZ4's...
I just reached out to Ford again via Facebook messenger. Looks like mine at least is still due to be built end of Nov. I wonder if that will change based on the info you provided.
Here is what they said:
Thanks for reaching back out to us. According to our current build schedule your vehicle is...
I've now Tweeted (or X'ed whatever its called these days) at Ford Australia as well and told them the Mustang7G Australian community is getting super frustrated at the poor communication around pricing. . They will probably just ignore my tweet. 😞
I did the same yesterday. At least they gave me a build date for my Dark Horse (27 November), but they refused to give any indication of when we can get pricing.
Yeah I have it written into my contract that its pending pricing. So I can cancel. I have a backup GT on order as well also pending pricing. So I'm hoping I can get the DH. If its crazy money, I'll fall back onto the GT. The dealer had no problem with me doing this. I openly told them I'll...
