  1. Beautiful red dark horse lost the engine

This is the other point I forgot to mention. If you run supercharged, get rid of the cats! I don't have any because they can absolutely superheat, start coming apart, and small particles get pulled back into the engine to kill it. It's common enough that the dealership AND Whipple both warned me...
  2. Beautiful red dark horse lost the engine

I'm speaking specifically Stage 2 and beyond. If you go Stage 1 Whipple with a Whipple canned tune, your car will probably live just as long as it would NA. They detune it to 800bhp, walk the red line back, and install a super soft rev limiter that honestly sounds weird AF if you stand on the...
  3. Beautiful red dark horse lost the engine

Nah, 800-900rwhp not enough power on it's own to sling a rod or crack a stock piston. They can hold ~1300rwhp full send reliably for quite some time before going. If the tune is sound and the fuel is good, at best a Stage 2 with full bolt-ons is making ~70% of that. Should last for several years...
  4. Beautiful red dark horse lost the engine

The Coyote pistons are not a weakpoint at the level of power a stage 2 Whipple produces. Unless, of course, you have sudden detonation from bad fuel and/or going lean. But of course, to your point, any detonation while making that much power on (albeit fantastically engineered) hypereutectic...
  5. IS THE DARK HORSE ROAD RAGE BAIT?

In my area, Hellcats won't bow up to me. Corvettes ignore me even if I lay rubber next to them to start a fight. Imports leave me alone. With the exception of the occasional Mustang or Camaro jumping me, you know who comes out of no where to waste my time with a slowpoke challenge? RAM pickup...
  6. IS THE DARK HORSE ROAD RAGE BAIT?

Are you hanging out in the passing lane normally? :P
  7. Beautiful red dark horse lost the engine

Nothing to do with being supercharged. They have the GT500 rods. I have 33k miles of mostly DIE MUSTANG DIE miles on mine. Usually what grenades a built engine is either hitting the rev limiter over and over either on purpose or on accident while under load, or, shitty gas/tuning and going lean...
  8. Which oil pump gears

I used Boundary. No issues yet. Beat the shit out of it every time it fires up.
  9. Have we given up on a Ford Performance tune for the S650 GT?

    I don't think there's 100 horses hiding in a stock GT.
  10. Carbon Fiber Footwell Tub for 2024+ Mustang

I'd like to do the entire interior with this.
  11. Richard Hammond Drives His 867 HP Mustang Dark Horse w/ Whipple Supercharger

That sounds about right. You can make much bigger numbers with catless long-tubes, Stage 2, and switching to and E85 tune. Moreso if you drop the pulley down again and run a 10 rib. Probably would need to upgrade the fuel system as well by that point. But to be honest, 700rwhp is plenty of...
  12. Richard Hammond Drives His 867 HP Mustang Dark Horse w/ Whipple Supercharger

The stage 1 kit basically is locked in to 91 octane from what I understand. It might understand E30 but I'm not certain.
  13. Richard Hammond Drives His 867 HP Mustang Dark Horse w/ Whipple Supercharger

If he got Stage 1 w/ catted LTs, that's quite a bit on the high side of believability. I'd expect it to make ~730rwhp on 91 at best with a manual tranny. This smells more like my setup. Either that or, like @LouG said, maybe they converted the rwhp to bhp to fudge the numbers. The dyno sheet did...
  14. CEO Jim Farley: They'll have to rip the Mustang's stick shift 'out of our cold, dead hands'

Now he just needs to stop encrypted the ECU like a loser.
  15. Dark Horse- What did you Mod today?

That's so dirty clumps of debris fell out of my monitor onto my keyboard when I scrolled.
  16. How to Build an 8 Second 1/4 Mile Dark Horse Mustang - LP

Probably! I have most of what's on this list, minus the fuel system and overdrive pulleys. I also have catless longtube headers, billet OPG, and billet crank gear. I've probably spent about $17k on parts so far. If I had to get some AT tranny stuff, then I could see it touching $20k
  17. New Ford Racing Supercharger Kit Boosts Mustang GT and Dark Horse Power Up to 810 HP / 615 LB-FT

I want those damn Ford Performance badges on the Whipple! They refuse to sell them to me.
  18. 2026 Dark Horse SC Mustang pricing released!

Oh, thank god it's affordable. I was worried for a moment there. How many should I get? Anyone else want one while I'm up?
