Yeah that was with some mild consistent punches to 4-5k in the city streets. I have been trying to vary my rpms new motor and all. There’s an install for the oil cooler online but it looks like a pain in the ass.
Oh yeah no doubt there is a difference. I think it’s a bit too large tbh. I feel like the margins are to far apart. The oil cooler makes a massive difference lol.
Not having my car since Monday has me a bit all over the place. For example I know I haven’t taken the car over 5k rpms and I have seen those temps. Not often but I have. Usually, it sits around 215-218 if I remember correctly.
Good temp. Now I’m curious to see what oil temp is actually at when coolant is in the middle. I know those oil coolers make a 10-15 degree difference probably more.
Yeah that’s what I use. I don’t know what is the official “warmed up temp” I just assumed over 200 I’m good to go but I could be completely wrong.
That’s data I’m still learning. On my 18GT it had the digital gauges with needles signifying how warm the car was now with numbers it’s a bit different. But it seems like 230 oil temp is considered warmed up on my non pp car.
probably getting scientific here but I wonder if the level changes based on how hard you ran the car before you turned it off even if you wait that same 20 minutes. For example just bringing it up to temp then stopping or doing a few pulls then stopping.
Yeah that is weird. I don’t really have an answer for that. The only advice i could say is pick a method and stick with it. I was of the opinion that cold checks were the best as all the oil has had time to fall down. But after this thread apparently hot is the better way. I can’t remember how I...
Well if yall stick around you will see this develop. I’ll be posting data from my car dipstick starting tomorrow . Trying to understand what the heck is going on with my dipstick if anything at all. I’m going for longest mustang7g thread of all time :cwl:
