  1. Pros and Cons of a convertible

It was definitely toasty cruising top down in NC this weekend! AC helps in for sure. But I got back to the garage before it topped 100. I think you got the GT cruiser nature of the vert dead on. But for what it is worth, I have only experienced it feeling unsettled on bad RR crossings...
  2. Rev Matching

I stand corrected…apparently that is a thing on 6th gen Camaros. 😳 Agree, I would not try it on my car.
  3. Rev Matching

That is likely referring to No Lift Shift. You can keep your foot on accelerator but you still have to use the clutch. Our cars do it, but I have not had the chance to try it out yet.
  4. What did you do to your S650 Mustang today?? 🙋🏻‍♂️

Cleaned green paint off the splash guards, wheel well, and the side of the car! It would have sprayed down the side of the car without the splash guards…they paid for themselves today. It came off pretty easy. Not sure if that was because of the ceramic or whatever it was I ran through.
  5. Gas prices [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I was referring to required structural enhancements and crash mitigation tech from the General Safety Regulations that are contributing to increased vehicle weight. Taxes based on vehicle weight would be going up as cars get heavier... you are safer but poorer.
  6. Gas prices [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

You have to admit, the weight tax is a bit ironic as EU regs have been driving up vehicle weights for all of us. Is that why it is changing? The mileage tax seems like it could be favorable if you have multiple enthusiast cars that don’t see the miles…but I’m sure there is a minimum to prevent...
  7. Power Washer Recommendation

After burning through an expensive gas PW, I picked up a Craftsman 1900psi electric a couple years ago. I believe it was under $150 at the time. Not too strong for the paint when washing cars. Drives the foam cannon. Works well on patio furniture and spot cleaning. Not strong enough for big...
  8. Battery tender - no bonnet lift needed?

Here is my install on a Ford Performance/ Vtech charger. I had no issues running the connector under the hood near the headlight. But I do have to open the hood to connect it. Not exactly what you are looking for. You will have to shop for a battery connection with a tail long enough to reach...
  9. Cool Daily Random S650 Mustang Pics -- Post Yours! 📸

F150 got a wash this AM so I took a couple pics of my favorite Fords together.
  10. Front collision alert would let me kill myself

It will definitely work. One of the activities for Mustang Unleashed is to try to drive into an inflatable car. They have you do it multiple times at about 30mph. Car stops itself every time. On the road, I have not had my Mustang's alert go off, but it has saved my butt in my F150.
  11. Quiet start

I had the same experience recently. Chalked it up to the latest update. The system boot up has been noticeably faster.
  12. Cool Daily Random S650 Mustang Pics -- Post Yours! 📸

Local C&C. There was some real interest in the S650.
  13. Dog riding in convertible

Old thread I know…but sharing a homemade solution for a large dog in the back of the vert. This is pegboard (light, ventilated) cut to a trapezoid shape, padded top and sides, and slid into a body pillow cover. Doggo’s harness is attached to an isofix clip. Not pretty, but a clean look and...
  14. anyone else's auto throttle input for manuals giving out?

Shoes are a great point. Today's trainers and running shoes have a lot more structure and cushion than shoes did when I started driving. Definitely makes it hard to get pedal feedback. Driving shoes are not available for my clown feet, but I found "barefoot" shoes on Amazon for ~$25. I found...
  15. Spare tire (yes, again)

Modern’s jack for the PP/DH does not fit in the well with the spare. I had the same question and reached out to them to get confirmation. That should be mentioned in the marketing. It might be a deal breaker for some. I have my jack in a trunk cargo net. Not ideal, but I don’t notice it.
  16. I must not be driving fast enough . . . .

These are not the droids you are looking for…
  17. I must not be driving fast enough . . . .

Same here with the manual and PP. 22+ on a rural highway day trip, just better than my F150 average. 14ish going for a Sunday drive. 😁
  18. IS THE DARK HORSE ROAD RAGE BAIT?

That! I was cruising, top down with my son and had one on my bumper surging and revving. There was traffic in front of us and neither of us were going anywhere. Separate incident, one doing the same in a narrow 20mph neighborhood. I am no angel, but they just act stupidly.
  19. Whistling noise upon acceleration

I was driving my vert top down recently and put the exhaust in quiet (vs sport or track). I was shocked at how well I could hear the intakes suck. Very cool, sounds great. …maybe not cool enough to drive in quiet Enjoy the noise!
