When I do my tunes, I just set all modes to track active exhaust settings - basically all open all the time if that's what my customer asks for. Super easy in the tune.
FYI you dont need pure e85 to get the complete knock protection you get from higher E content. You are not going to see any knock no matter what from anything E60+. You might get false knock from something like headers, but not actual spark knock. Anything e70+ is safe with most e85 tunes you...
If you want to run PCMtec then we can do a real flex tune with sensor - once they support gen4. But on gen3 they do. Everyone else doesnt do them anymore. They are very finicky and rarely work as intended and no you and everyone else isnt watching datalogs to make sure the inferred blend is...
The point is having quite a bit more power on tap for any situation you might want it for. LOL is this a serious question? You also realize you can swap back to 93 once you run the e85 down to E. Then just fill up on 93, and after a few miles flash your 93 tune. You realize that right?
We've been doing these like 2 a day. Ive got maybe 50 done now since release. We perfected the ghost cam drivibility and its PERFECT. Even on the auto cars. If you guys have tiktok, I have my page just loaded with pop flame, ghost cam cars and tons of driving videos with my stuff on it so...
The value is being able to run a different fuel system and full E85. Then you dont have to blend and you get all the cooling and octane benefits. There is nothing different from the gen3 whipple tunes. They are all the same, just people have pushed the gen4 farther with E blends and race fuel...
yeah power doesn’t carrry that far on these. I had mine at 7800. Lowered to 7600 for a tad over rev to help drop me back in the peak power RPM. It’s faster that way. Only reason to let it run out that high would be to push gearing so you don’t have an extra shift before the end of the...
Not likely past 7500. I have the VCT dialed in for maximum VE and no reversion at high RPM, and with the stock cams you are just limited. I did everything I could to get it to carry past that and it just wouldnt. That was with stock exhaust.
With headers and no cats, I have a new VCT...
@Mr Hyde HP Tuners fixed my other guy that was in the same spot as you today. You might want to try again or reach out to them. My other guy is flashing now and about to drive off into the sunset.
Im a tuner and also ran and logged my personal 25gt on e30 for months before tuning came out. The car was super happy on e30. There are no actual "gains" unless you are consistently getting spark knock on 93 vs no knock on e30. That was the case with my car. I would occasionally get knock on...
We didnt rush anything out. HPT let us all know it was coming and we got working on tunes. And some of the big name guys had it several weeks before even us normal tuners. Then when they announced it, the ones of us that had cars we could dev on had tunes ready. This isnt a tuning issue, its...
It will get fixed. I have another guy HPT is struggling getting his car read. Their engineer told me there are a very small handful of strategy’s that they haven’t been able to finish defining yet with their software. And the firmware doesn’t know the cars controller yet. Once they get it...
The reality is if you run only 93 but you are a manual car, then not much to gain. Its the auto cars that really feel the difference. The tq management reduced or eliminated in some scenarios, the shift points raised to 7500-7800. Pair that with our VCT settings that have been hand crafted...
This was mine full E85 tuned (by me), completely stock down to the paper air filters. 101f shop temps, 2900da and heat soaked. I think I did pretty well with mine.
On a stone stock manual car with 93 only I would say no. The value is for the 10R80 guys who are gimped by tq management and short shifting. Moving the shift points out to 7500-7800rpm is the sweet spot once you strip out the majority of the tq management. Getting the 10R80 to shift nicer too...
