Hell yeah, love where you're going with this, I could try to sketch up a new mustang inspired by the '69.
As for sound, let's just say we have pretty similar ideas...
There seems to be a lot of love for the fox body and new edge in niche enthusiasts circles. Here's how I feel about that. Taking inspiration from the new edge or fox body for the next V8 coupe would be a massive mistake.
The love for those cars seems a lot more hit and miss than for things...
Because this thread seems to have evolved into a "What do you want for a next generation mustang" discussion. I want the next mustang to basically build on the s650 in terms of design, and engineering, instead of throwing everything out.
Retain the 60s muscle car look, fastback, flared...
Sorry, just to clarify, I just mean whatever generation we get to replace the coupe. I hope it's a new platform, but we'll see where they end up going with it.
A new mustang on a new platform with new proportions is exactly what I want to see. Keep the long hood, fastback, flared fenders, but...
It'll be really interesting to see how a mustang sedan will tie into the coupe getting a refresh and new gen. I personally believe if the sedan needs a lot of new sheet metal, if you need to spend the money to invest in a mostly new body, Ford may as well make the mustang sedan look like its own...
My guess is refresh in '27 and a new gen pretty close to 2030. The refresh will offer new front and rear designs, but will probably also offer hybrid versions of the 5.0 and 2.3. My guess is the hybrid versions will essentially be s750 powertrains in an s650 body.
Brands do this, where they...
Well he said it wouldn't be a truck, and when people brought up the bronco, he shook his head and later said this vehicle wouldn't look like a bronco. I agree, I hope it's a new rs car, a new rs 200. I liked that concept ford designers made so much that I used AI to create a short vid of it in...
Maybe like a next gen supercar body but with raptor style high travel suspension, so like a more hardcore take on the off-road supercars Lambo and Porsche are making?
He said it wouldn't be a truck, or a bronco. So like an actual supercar, but more hardcore, that would be really neat.
I'll have to read the article, but when I hear off-road supercar, I think RS 200 revival. What's interesting about that is Ford's own designers designed a new RS 200 last year for the 40th anniversary of the RS 200, and Ford trademarked the RS 200 name, and Ford's said they want to do more RS...
But it's still something with the shape and weight of a van, and something that despite having a ton of power, had a severe disadvantage on the straights. Again, just impressive overall.
The learnings from programs like this will influence Ford's future performance cars even though it's highly...
A 6:48 despite being limited to 160 mph on the straights is an insanely good time. I'll also add because both this and the corvettes were registered as prototype vehicles, this means the supervan technically beat the Corvette in its class, and now holds the record for the fastest prototype...
Yeah, I am to. To be fair, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, that shape under the tarp could be something like one of the new sedans/hatchbacks Ford is working on. But it's in the same room as the truck in the vid, and the images of the truck are so close up I can't tell how big or tall it...
Well most of the environmental harm caused by creative EVs comes from mining for rare earth materials like lithium, cobalt, and nickel. The new EV battery tech Ford's putting in these affordable EVs doesn't have any cobalt, I also believe it doesn't have any lithium. Newer EV battery tech has...
A few more details
- No trim levels
- Unheard of aero for a truck, active aero could be a thing but not confirmed.
- The first truly modular platform a brand has made, so it can underpin a ton of vehicles, including cars.
- Customization will be a factor.
So I'm guessing it'll be like a...
Yeah the design under the black tarp to the right. You can see the rake of the windshield/A-pillar, some of the roof, and the rough height of the vehicle. Not much to go on, but at least it's something lol.
That could be another product they're working on, but Ford trademarked the ranchero...
Such a badass looking car. Even the way it pulled into the stage was badass with it driving through the mist and that mist coming out of the fender and hood vents. Just awesome.
