i wasnt joking when i said this is the new GT, this isnt a mustang thats going to sit on a lot at 30k dealer markup, this is going to be a car that you have to request to be put on a waiting list and probably have to go through the same process that GT buyers went through to get this thing...

  4. Leaked! Mustang GTD (Mid-Engine?) Supercar Special Project - Debuts @ Monterey Car Week on 8/17!

thats a red herring, you can clearly see that on the actual GT3 here also i wouldnt look too deep into the GTD title for any meaning, its literally just what IMSA calls their GT3 field.
  5. Been out of the loop, s650 v8 lifespan?

They are in a round about way, no lightning means no v8 because of government regulations.

Ford's going to run the v8 as long as they can, they need that F150 money
  7. Farley: 2024 Mustangs Begin Shipping Next Week! - 13,000 U.S. Orders So Far (67% V8 Take Rate)

if we're going off of profit margins then Tesla still isnt the top, Ford over the past decade had a margin of 10-13,000 per F150 sold, which alone accountes for everything tesla sells. and thats not even that crazy, Porsches margins are 18-20k per car
  8. Farley: 2024 Mustangs Begin Shipping Next Week! - 13,000 U.S. Orders So Far (67% V8 Take Rate)

going by that same idea, Oil fields dont always fill, Natural gas dont always get recovered. theres a million ways we can make power, some are just more beneficial than others
  9. Farley: 2024 Mustangs Begin Shipping Next Week! - 13,000 U.S. Orders So Far (67% V8 Take Rate)

thats very misleading because its EV only, Tesla only sells EVs so obviously they would be higher, a better mark would be Tesla earning 12.6BN in 2022 vs Ford earning 25BN and Toyota earning 53BN
  10. Farley: 2024 Mustangs Begin Shipping Next Week! - 13,000 U.S. Orders So Far (67% V8 Take Rate)

i agree that the way forward requires a multi-faceted approach to the issue. but to call tesla the most profitable in the world while they are actively stripping out features from cars to struggle to make half of what Ford made in 2022 is a foolish notion. But i will credit them as proofing the...
  11. Farley: 2024 Mustangs Begin Shipping Next Week! - 13,000 U.S. Orders So Far (67% V8 Take Rate)

i honestly think what we need now isnt throwing more subsidies behind EVs and green energy, but rather stripping subsidies from the oil barons and giving them to renewables instead
  12. Farley: 2024 Mustangs Begin Shipping Next Week! - 13,000 U.S. Orders So Far (67% V8 Take Rate)

quick correction: theyre running it in: Initially the fuel is to be used in lighthouse projects such as the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and at Porsche Experience Centers
  13. Farley: 2024 Mustangs Begin Shipping Next Week! - 13,000 U.S. Orders So Far (67% V8 Take Rate)

Porsche already has the synthetic fuel fully developed, theyre running their PESC series off of it, right now their focus is finding ways to scale production. the issue we run into with power systems is we dont have any reliable way to store mass amounts of electricity so we're limited to what...
  14. Delivery starts tomorrow!! (says Ford Chat)

    Tomorrow will be Monday
  15. Supercharger, Turbos, or Procharger (centrifugal)?

so continuing off of a question i asked earlier this week what are those of you who plan on doing FI planning on using? obviously Superchargers are a staple for the American muscle car scene, but ive seen a lot of good builds with mustangs, especially a few kits ive seen from Hellion over the...
  16. Create your own packages thread

accent appearance package: kind of like NPP but instead colors all accent lines: grille, headlights, lower valance, splitter, rockers, rear valance, mirrors, etc. and makes them an accent color of your choice low tech pack: strips out all electronics that are not required to make the car drive.
  17. What else would you purchase?

theres not really any other car im considering right now, i would say CT4-V Blackwing, but i would forever be tormented by the fact the CT5-V Blackwing exists
  18. What options did you get and why? No ETA talk allowed on this thread

That reminds me of this Haggerty article I read that basically said gen Z is purposefully ignoring the cars our parents listed after because they're too expensive so they're seeing the rise of unlikely collections like the Mustang II
  19. If s650 is the last gen of mustangs to have the v8, what will the following gens be?

depends on your definition of "performance" the ICE isnt a magical mystery anymore, anyone and their mother could make a drag car pushing 1000+hp and still only just be beating a tesla to 60mph, just look at all the people online buying old cars and throwing as much boost at them as humanly...
