Can anyone tell me why the economy figure differs between the trip computer mode and the actual fuel economy display? And both are really slow to update.

I've pressure washed my cars and bikes for many years, but I use the lowest setting, keep a safe distance from the surface and I don't spray sensors, joints in lights etc.
