I've got magnetic and mechanical grabs---I'm embarrassed to say how often I've had to use them over the years!
You could try dropping the under trays (if you're up for the hassle of doing so) off your Mustang to see if the socket is riding on top of one of them
The TPMS on my GT always reads 3 lbs lower than my air gauge (all four tires), and it's not unusual to see a 1 lb difference in cold pressure between the rear tires; which will equalize as soon as I've backed out of my driveway and driven an 1/8 mile or less. 🤔

Depends on wheels width to a degree. The Tire Rack lists a width of 9"-11" for the 275s and a width of 8.5"-10" for the 255s. If it were me; I wouldn't hesitate to put 265s on your wheels. Good luck!
