That part is pretty similar. But the cantilever rear suspension with those DSSV dampers, gearing, weight balance, extra track width and even larger tires are big differences.
Add onto that the one thing I dearly wish they could find it within the budget to do for the mustang in general....an...
A lot of youtube reviews do not have the CFTP. Having had both versions it makes quite a big difference. Just saying..
I do like the GTD a lot though. I just can't afford one :)
With this mentality, you would never create anything new...
Yes it costs money.
This is exactly where I was going. I could totally see a new platform, designed around multiple use cases to maximize profitability and global homologation efforts. Of course it will cost money. I would not be...
Unless they are planning to do what Corvette did, and modernize the whole platform from the ground up. Doesn't mean it needs to be mid engine, but they would get major improvements through weight and strength optimizations to create a new frame, stick a double wishbone on it etc.
Yeah I remember this too back when they announced it. It was same time they announced no more GT500 model name in the Ford lineup, and Shelby confirmed it in a social media post.
Silver is the easiest color to keep looking new. Hides scratches and swirl marks better than any color, and also accents the lines of any car it is used on (this can be a bad thing, if you own various Korean cars....).
I would vote silver.
Yeah I wasn't really arguing with you. Just adding nuance from what I had been told. Anecdotally, it is probably safe to assume most people get no benefit from it (assuming Ford does not change the damping rates between trims).
There is a portion of the population however (myself, for one) who...
The added track performance.
My understanding when I was buying my GT500 was that the real "value" was in the fact you got nominal street manners (normal mode, nothing mindblowing) but ALSO got the ability to have really high track performance which you would not get, in a single setting street...
My understanding is the fact you cannot distinguish between MR on the street vs. non, is the point. The value in MR is that it can do both, including track duty at a high level, making it a good design choice for high performance vehicles that are tracked and street driven.
At a very very high...
Well we can end all speculation folks, it has been officially confirmed as the up and coming, one and only, incredible, super-awesome supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (there was an auto-correct for that, by the way) .......
Super-Special Dark Californicating Cobra-Donkey Snake-Boss Bullitt...
Heh....almost. More like a less refined AMG GT that breathes a lot more fire (not the new fat one, although it is ballistic).
Base C8 is too boring, and is missing just raw excitement (and a lot of HP). Even in Z06 form, it sounds like its breathing through a tube or something and all the trims...
The car I wish they would make, is essentially just the S550 Gt500, with a different name, 6-700lbs lighter, slightly more low-end torque, modestly shorter gearing , a real traction control system to help manage wheel spin at low speeds, faster throttle response (ala GTD), paddles that feel like...
I don't have a GT350, but I suspect with the same Trofeo RS tires that come on the Dark Horse there is a larger gap than people expect given the ~250lb curb weight difference.
I would think there is minimal regrets with lightly optioned DH models as you are effectively getting a new Mach 1...
I’m in the camp of “definitely not”. They are totally different products with totally different marketing strategies and purposes. Ford has no equivalent product to the C8 and vice versa although I suppose people probably cross shop the low end a lot. You can’t really cross shop the high end due...
I like the color. Reminds me of gulf stream aqua. Glad they are offering it, as other have said just to spice it up a bit.
However….i think someone else nailed it when they said the design language just doesn’t fit the car. Individually, I actually like the wheel style and the new body color...
No. I’ve been told this and even read, it but doing more digging it appears that this is likely an amalgamation of varying scenarios over the years. The DMV would most likely still look at it from the standpoint of the original MFG model. Though that is not the case for earlier cars, which...
Shelby American cars get registered as Shelby. Not Ford. That technicality takes them beyond tuner status from a legal standpoint. I don’t agree all their cars are bad value. Some are, but I would actually say the new Super Snake is much better value than the prior model. There is a 45min video...
Old news im afraid. People buy into convenience and entertainment too easily these days. I bailed on social media and personal smartphones years ago, and you can do as suggested, simply pull fuses to disable telematics, GPS etc. Don’t buy smart devices of any kind. Use cash (what a concept…)...
It’s probably what others are suggesting. NA V8 with lots of mass, vs. lightweight turbo engine on a smaller vehicle and AWD. The latter will be quicker around town and off the line. It can use its power more efficiently, at low speeds.
I drove an AWD 911 recently, and at nearly 600 lbs lighter...
