You must have missed my posts in the other thread. I already communicated with the Ford aerodynamics engineer responsible for the S650, and with his boss. The former stated it was safe to plug the hole, and the latter explained what the purpose of these openings were. Here you go:

You'll typically see a record when you bring your car in for any service, but (a) it's not guaranteed and (b) it's not only very generic, but often WRONG.
Bottom line, whether you are doing all your own service or having it done somewhere, keep all your receipts. Note date and mileage on...
1. It's not a factory defect. It's designed to facilitate the installation of a component.

I have a number of places to open up my cars to top speed without much worry. Z06 ran out of road at 174 MPH, IIRC. Let's just say it pays to still have former co-workers in the right places ... 😉
