So you're not an engineer. Got it.
We work with Ford engineers all day, every day, but I don't know more about the product they designed than they do.
Yes, the engineers who designed the engine know what works best in the engine they designed when the vehicle is used under conditions...
Unless you're a mechanical engineer with experience designing engines, I'll continue to defer to them.
Has nothing to do with a backyard mechanic running a different viscosity oil because it's hot outside.
Which company did you work for ad an engine designer again?
Obvious? Says who?

You can't expect a dealership to foot the bill for something that wasn't brought up to them until MANY MONTHS after they delivered a vehicle. That's just ridiculous.
Depends upon the item. I've found them to be the lowest price on a majority of parts I've ordered for all my Ford vehicles, even with shipping.

As of 6-05 FORD has part PR3Z-7277-FA on a National Back order with a No Release date. Notes state, "Supplier Issue". There are No FORD Dealerships in the Nation showing to have this.
No offense, but unless you work for Ford and were part of the team that designed the 5.0, I'll refrain from deferring to you over the owner's manual regarding oil viscosity. For the record, my father retired from Ford. He was an engineer who worked on designing at least one of thier engines...
Last time I checked, there were absolutely zero recalls for the S650 related to engines and engine oil.
Go ahead and fill your crankcase with whatever you want ... then let us know how it works out when you try to make that warranty claim.
Last time I checked, the owner's manual reads the same up here as it does in the south. Y'all still speak English there, even with the accent, right? 😆
The OTA process has been discussed on these forums. Search is your friend.
Long story short, there us no rhyme or reason to when you might get an update. These aren't like cell phones where you check for an update and it gets applied.
