May want to recheck your settings. I have a manual and if I want it in quiet, I hit the on button to turn on accessories and then go to My Mustang and select quiet for exhaust. I can hear the actuators moving. Then I push the clutch in and hit engine start and it starts in quiet mode.
And I would, but man, if I was watching the right video, that's very intensive on improving the shifting feel and action of the MT82. Not only do you have to disassemble the interior surroundings, but you also gotta get under the vehicle and lower the transmission.
Thanks for sharing. I honestly wanted a DH originally as well, but had a hard time justifying the extra cost. To add to it, my dealership had not received any DH allocations at the time of my purchase. There just so happened to be a 6-speed manual GT fully loaded (see sig). Took it for a test...
The 15 MPG was probably for the manual. I know mine with the 3.73 gears is rated for 14 MPG in the city.
As far as acceleration, I'd recommend you test drive both and see which one you prefer more. And yes, the higher the gear, the higher the RPM when cruising. However, with the 10A, I wouldn't...
I would recommend the 3.55 with the Torsen Limited Slip. Your mileage might take a 1 MPG hit, but your acceleration will be much stronger. Since you opt for the 10A, neither will interfere with daily/city driving.
The higher the gear, you are trading increased acceleration for decreased fuel...
Yes. And if I understand it correctly, Dark Horse is essentially the Mach 1 replacement seeing as the manual sports the TREMEC and it has additional cooling (i.e. differential cooler).
This will vary per dealership. Some dealerships are willing to listen to their customers and reach out to Ford Motor Company. Others, if you don't buy the vehicle because of said flaw, they'll just move on because someone else who doesn't know about it will buy the vehicle.
There are pros and cons to that. The main con is Android OS fragmentation, which, down the line, could leave the infotainment open to cyber vulnerabilities due to lack of updates/end of support. As long as auto manufacturers don't tie the entire ECM/PCM to the infotainment OS, shouldn't be too...
I bet you also don't use the parking brake when parking the vehicle. Instead, you leave it in 1st/2nd/reverse
Not judging. I personally always park my manual trans vehicle in 1st. Only use the handbrake when parked on an incline. However, the Mustang complains when you don't pull the parking...
How about we work on fixing the current bugs first before upgrading to a new Operating System? IMO, the hardware is there, the OS just needs more time to bake.
As some have already stated, I would imagine the DH resale value would be similar to the S550 Mach 1s.
One interesting matter is the transmission. Take this with a grain of salt, but I saw one YouTube channel state that dealerships don't like taking manual transmission cars on trade-in because...
That's bad wording on my part. I know Ford has the capability. Just kills me that they didn't do it for the Ford Mustang.
BUT, they incorporated it in the Mustang Mach-E AND in addition, power-folding mirrors 😒
I'd be somewhat interested. Kills me that General Motors / Chevrolet can incorporate front parking sensors and 360 cameras on their Corvette C8, but the best Ford could do was backup camera (which is a federal mandate as of May 2018) and backup sensors. Source...
There are only so many different designs that can be used for vehicle appearances to keep them looking somewhat like a car.... unless you are Telsa (see: Cybertruck)
I can 100% attest to this. Had the exhaust on normal and it put my kids to sleep in the back seat. Turned it to quiet and the wife and I were able to easily have a conversation at a decent volume without waking the kiddos, as well as, able to hear the radio without issue.
