IMHO, my first car ever was a 1965 Mustang. The first Mustangs had a corral around the pony, and had silver bars extending east and west of the corral. No hint of that, so no nostalgic feeling here.

Make sure the charger you get is suitable for AGM batteries. I personally have both a NOCO Genius 5 and a Genius 10. They work great but there are many other options as well.

Was it like this upon delivery? How often do you look at it? I had to put some in at around 1k miles as bubbles purged themselves from the coolant passages. Since then it has been unchanged (7k miles).
I would look for leaks, top it off, and keep a close eye on it.
Make sure you hold it until you get the 'saved' message... just a few seconds. I think it beeps also when saved, but it's been 3 months since I did mine, I I'm not sure about the beep.

No way I would let them ship it for only 650 miles. Do what you have to do to lock it in, then go get it when the weather improves. Find a nice, scenic, twisty route home and your break-in will be complete when you get home.
Personally, I think the use of Top Tier fuels is more important than 87 vs. E87. The car is designed for the ethanol fuels, so that should be of no real concern if driven regularly. The cleaning power of top tier gas will help keep it running more efficiently for longer.
