Great news! I did a buyback once on a BMW, the dealer took care of everything (in that case, they bought back the car and sold me a new one at dealer cost).
Best of luck with the GT.
I remember reading an article many years ago about the Mercedes S class. This is their flagship model, and usually the newest latest and greatest tech shows up in that car first.
Most of the people buying those cars tend to be older and not only don't care about the tech, they don't know how...
I know that everyone is trying to be helpful, but please remember that things like lemon laws, insurance, used car warranties and nearly everything else mentioned here varies by state!
I used to work at a car dealership, and they would not sell a car (new or used) with an outstanding recall...
I realize that the OP had other reasons, but you young wippersnappers need to consider that not everyone has tools (not even a 10mm wrench!) or mechanical abilities/confidence or the desire to DIY. And, as many of you probably never think about, leaning over the fender and working on the engine...
Your car is parked for the winter? Did you consider that perhaps the system only works when the car is in gear and/or moving?
I had a Caddy CT5-V Blackwing, which has interior engine noises sent through the speakers. It was most evident when driving with the windows down, as the apparent...
All that I can think of is a left-to-right swap of the wheels when the tires were mounted. Some kind of subtle change that wasn't noticeable when they were on the other side. Easy to check. Yeah, the tires are directional, but a few miles on them the wrong way won't hurt.
I'd also suggest...
Sorry to read about your misfortune. It seems unreasonable for them to hold your car, but at least you've got a loaner!
My understanding is that Ford had a fix for the recall, but that it isn't working. If true and I were in your shoes, I'd start a buyback...
Bruh, word!
Dat cap is phat!
I don't see the need for using the brake when our cars have enough torque to break loose already. But then, I can't maintain a drift for more than a couple of seconds anyway (on a wet skidpad), so I'm not a good judge.
I'm of the opinion that spacers are bad. Think leverage, the unsprung weight of the wheel and tire now put more stress on the connected parts. Plus, magnifying/multiplying camber effects, perhaps?
Stud kits, made of proper grade parts that can handle the stresses, I don't see an issue with...
ditto. This has been my personal experience when swapping street and track tire/wheel setups. No dyno confirmation, just my butt.
Don't forget to figure in the weight of the tires when estimating any benefit.
If you're not racing, then it's really just a matter of budget and willingness to...
Those are wicked cool wheels, and for those interested, it's about what you'd pay for new tires and TPMS sensors...
You might do better putting this in the classifieds forum.
I will add that since my earlier post and adding a few miles onto the car, it's getting better. Everything needs a bit of break-in and heat cycles.
I test drove a 355 a few years back. It was, by far, the worst transmission I have ever experienced, which includes a 3500 chassis 200+K...
If you guys and gals knew what dealers do to their cars and the lack of care and attention that the "detail" or "prep" guys do, you would probably cry. It's best to just not think about it.
I do not. Standard black with blueish accents? It's all kind of weird.
Regardless, thanks but no, I don't think I want to do the swap. I find the recaros too difficult to get out of for them to work for me.
I can't remember exactly, but are the Recarro seats heated? If not, then I wonder if you'll be able to use the heated seats on the replacements without some coding.
Of course, that may not matter to you, just wondering. I'm a bit tempted to swap with you, but I think I'd miss the heat and I...
