With Dodge cancelling the Challenger and Chevrolet allegedly cancelling the Camaro I think sales for the S650 will be up for the foreseeable future. Opportunity for conquest sales for Ford.
That is exactly what I'm doing. Just dropped off my pre-order for GT premium with the performance package and magneride. I'm not going to take my car to the track so I doubt I'll miss the 14 extra horsepower. The only thing I really wanted was the Tremec and the prestige of the Dark Horse name...
I hear what you're saying. I've driven the S550 several times and loved it. I personally can't see it being worse than the outgoing model, only better. It's a gamble I'm willing to take!
Let's remember it's more about smiles per mile than miles per gallon, or cost per gallon in this case. At least with a new Coyote it's just 93 and that's it. I have to put 93 in my '65 F100 PLUS a lead substitute because I have no idea if the previous owner had the valve seats hardened. Better...
I've also played with the idea of painted stripes done by my local custom body shop. Wraps are cool, but to have everything painted would be over the top sweetness!
Also things I thought about! If it's all one color would prefer to get aftermarket custom racing stripes instead. Not really digging the factory stripes.
Does anyone know what I need to order to get the bronze appearance package with the black roof and spoiler? Does it come with the GT performance package? I absolutely love the look in the press release photos. The contrast of the black spoiler against that red is just amazing. I'm putting in...
I called Fairway Ford in Greenville and Anderson Ford. Both are charging upwards of $15k over MSRP. Nobody in the SC, NC, or GA area that I found was willing to sell the DH for MSRP.
My favorite is calling a dealership to speak to a salesman and them telling me you can't order a 24 Stang until this fall or winter. Sad when I know how than they do, and then they get pissed when you demand they go call someone else. Seriously?
Who will service our vehicles for major repairs, recall and warranty work? Sales and service are tied together. IDK if one can survive without the other financially, but I also confess I have no idea how much each side of the dealership brings in.
I wish you the best of luck! I can't find a single dealer to agree to MSRP for the Dark Horse. As another user commented and my salesman did, too, that this is Ford's top pony for 2024. They're taking it very seriously like they would the GT500.
Let us all know how it goes! I hope you get it!
I've given up on it. After 2 days of frustration I'm done. They hold the cards and someone else will pay it so they'll get the car and the dealer will get their money. One dealer said he'd do a GT for MSRP so I think that's going to be my play. The rapid red with bronze package, over the top...
Local dealer pulled the rug out from under me. Won't sell his only allocation. Wants to option it to the hilt and add a mark-up even though he had a sale in the showroom ready to put a deposit down for a $70k car. Another dealer said he was charging $15k over MSRP. Absolutely ridiculous...
Just left my local dealer. The ordering manager is going to check the number of Dark Horse allocations they have, but so far I'm the only person who's inquired. I asked to have their one allocation if they don't get a second. He said he'd have to ask, but if they say yes I should be good to go...
