Just look at the M240i. It's rated at 382HP/369ft-lbs. It's putting down 403HP to the wheels and about 413ft-lbs. of torque.
You're right. There needs to be ONE standard. Either HP on an engine dyno, HP at the crank or wheel horsepower.
The M2 makes much more power on the Dyno as well.
Even the M240i XDrive beats it in most tests as well...... albeit with a ZF Auto and AWD.......and at $52K.
Also, if not having a V8 puts a damper on your enjoyment of a Mustang, then maybe you shouldn't buy one either... ;)
It's a circular argument. The ambient lighting in the cup holders, at least on my S550 add some class to an otherwise underwhelming interior.
