Read this. Started as a stock GT500. Now it's the most amazing Shelby ever.

By the way, that's me on the left with Jamie, the owner.
Apples and oranges. Ford Shelby's, the GT350 and GT500 were limited production special editions. The Dark Horse is a standard line model following the GT. We do not have any clue what Ford is doing with the Shelby nameplate. There was early talk of another GT500 but who knows.
There was no NA version announced, just SC'ed. I do not think there will be one. there are other Shelby's if you want NA.
EDIT: Never mind, there was a 480 HP mentioned. I'm thinking $15/20K for the SC, so $90/95K for the NA. Still way above the DH. But it's a Shelby if that is important to you.
It’s all a money grab. $1500 for cat back exhaust, $500 for a CAI system. $800 for a steering wheel. Don’t get me started about hi-fi equipment or watches.
But, that said Carroll Shelby meant a aweful lot to many, many folks. Shelby American is their only direct link to the old man. If it’s a...
I’m not sure but I do not think anyone here has come down on Carmax. They are a good company, at least the Myrtle Beach location. My son in law got his BMW there. But they do sell cars that have been modified. And, honestly, that’s reasonable since not everyone frequents the online forums. You...
To some, the Shelby pedigree is very important. Maybe it’s just an Internet forum thing but I really do not understand the need to denigrate a car that most folks do not understand nor afford.
I was at first really concerned about the "MOD" on the plaque put after reading post 53 I realized that's probably where it came from. We know the filters were changed, no big deal. The traps really do not mean anything and the exhaust, if anything was really done, should have no future effect...
Honestly, if it were me I'd look for a top quality independent mechanic who specializes in hi performance cars. I wouldn't trust a Carmax mechanic to know what they are looking for.
Do not let the dealer do anything. They will note everything in their system. Why give them a reason to possibly deny a future warranty claim. This, of course, is unlikely, but why bother.
Take a breath Dr. Many on here are used to discussing the technical side without realizing not everyone is able to do so. But we are here to help so let's take it slow.
Don't not worry about the filters. There are two types wet and dry. The wet type uses an oil that can be cleaned and reused...
Unfortunately that is pure BS. They’ve been caught numerous times for this. Anyway ask where the extra 17HP came from.
By the way don’t forget to check for aftermarket air filters.
