That‘s old school thinking. Today’s high compression engines compensate via software. Also read post 15. Octane in itself does not necessarily equal better performance.
And you would be wasting your money. See post #15.
Software updates are a relatively new thing for the automotive industry. They are certainly not as advanced as OTA updates for other electronic products. Give it time they will get there.
Exactly. No different than operating system updates for computers and mobile devices. It is the owners responsibility to make sure their devices are up to date. I totally understand why some folks do not want Ford, or anyone, tracking their whereabouts but OTA updates are a totally different matter.
Well then you are part of the problem. Maybe if you guys wrote it right the first time we wouldn't need so many damn updates.*
*Spoken as someone who has always loved my IT guys!!
Setting changes with software updates are as old as computers themselves. Happens all the time with PC's and mobile devices. Why wouldn't it happen with automobiles. We need to face the facts. Our cars are run with computers and computers always require updates. It is what it is. Don't like it...
Should, coulda, woulda. But we don't. But the good news is that if they do build a Dark Horse Boss you can pretty much bet it will have the Tremec. :like:
Do you realize that a warranty claim could be refused due to damage caused by not allowing the car to update? I understand the whole tracking thing with FordPass. But OTA updates to major electronic parts is a whole other thing. I’d certainly think twice about not allowing them.
