Have you ever pulled into the garage only to have the vehicle stop the engine once parked and then it restart before you turn the ignition off?

If their math is correct it only saves around $1000 (in estimated fuel cost) over the lifetime of the vehicle?

So in the end they already did the math for us? Pay for ‘credits’ to offset the equivalent lost?

By chance do they share the params or just their results. Wouldn’t idling at 1k (while enjoying the ac since the planet is getting warm) use less fuel than a 5k burst at 30 second intervals? While i concur ‘standing’ (idling for prolong periods) will use more fuel but the amount of ‘shutdown’...

Is more fuel used during ‘startup’ or at idle?
