Ok, so just to be clear for the purpose of the thread, when you said on page 1 that you haven't had the cracking happen, you do not drive your PS4S in colder than 45 degree weather?

Sorry you see this thread as some sort of personal affront. I am, however, actually interested in a thread in which folks post their personal experience with winter cold weather cracking in this particular tire (whether it happens or not). This is a popular tire choice with forum users here...

Michelin does say that, or at least Tire Rack does, yes. I assume that Tire Rack got that from Michelin, but I do not know that. It appears to be far too specific to be a general warning from Tire Rack, like their "not intended to be driven in" winter that they slap on every summer tire.

So one post so far that looks like to could be a personal experience with cracking PS4S due to cold temperatures. wesg79, did you replace the new ones before winter or cold weather arrived again?

I was asking for personal experiences, not just being a skeptic. Keep in mind that I have my own experience with PS4S in the winter. (on an AWD car that did not have 500 hp). This thread will be a useful reference for every visitor in the future considering tires. Thank you for responding...

Ok, thanks, it is a good video for snow traction comparison, but please post personal experiences with these tires and cracking (or lack thereof) if you have experience with them.

The Mickey Thompsons are a drag tire. If you are looking to go drag racing, they are probably a good bet if you have upgraded your rear axles. They are not intended for high speed cornering, but designed to launch from a standing start.

Probably need to wait another year or so for wider availability. There are not that many sizes available today.

But, again, if I lived in New York, or, gasp, Ontario, I would use winter tires or snow tires and certainly not Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires. But I don't live in those places. Snow is a very irregular occurrence here, and I really do not have to drive in it with extremely rare exceptions...
