Since, as far as I know, Mustang GT's don't have dip sticks or a transmission fluid change recommendation, what are other's doing to keep good fluid in their 10 speed automatic transmissions? Thanks, FD
At 1200 miles, it's time to change your oil anyway. Dump the break-in oil and put in new oil without the little sparkles in it which is break in metal which every engine has. FWIW.
I am my oil life monitor.
I change it at six months or 5000 miles, whichever comes first and then more often if there are extenuating circumstances (hard running, lots of city driving, etc.). Common sense keeps my engines running a long time, historically. Year old oil is worn out, used...
I own a 2012 Honda Civic that uses 0W-20 as called for by Honda. That's what I've used since new (PUP), and it consumes zero oil, gets plenty of highway use at high speeds sometimes. This car is not babied. It is, in fact, to this point, the best quality car I've ever owned. Not the...
OK, another question. I already know one answer is "personal preference" but why do so many people put a catch can only on the passenger side? What is the "technical reason", not the personal preference reason. Bear with me, I'm a first time Coyote owner but not a first time "fasty car"...
Thanks Mat1955 and everyone else. I've been using full synthetic since it came out decades ago. This is the first Ford I've owned in decades and I have a dealer that is almost adamant about semi-synthetic. I can't see me doing that when my company owns close to 70 gasoline vehicles and a few...
Thank you Skye and robvus. Skye, your attached link is very informative!
Question: What brand of catch can do you use? I may go ahead and put one on. Of course, the dealer says not needed.
My GT is coming up on 1000 miles. I will do my own oil change around that time. I plan on using either Pennzoil Ultra Platinum full synthetic or some kind of Mobil 1 synthetic. Probably the Pennzoil since that's I've used for years with no problems in both my personal vehicles and several of...
Looks like it worked for you, that's the main thing. Get some el cheapo plastic ramps, much easier and yes they are strong enough to use with a Mustang. Do block the rear wheels. Just another idea.
You all say what you want but I negotiated what I considered a good enough deal to order a Mustang GT, the car came in and my dealer gave me a pretty hefty Ford employee pricing discount on top of the good deal I already made with them.
Why do you people bad mouth Ford when you have them...
My 2025 Mustang GT just came in with Ford's synthetic blend in it according to my dealer. I will leave it in for a thousand miles and go one more oil change (the dealer uses blend) with Ford's blend to ensure break in which implies microscopic wear as the rings and bore seat with one another...
I ordered my car (5.0 GT) and it isn't in yet. Just wanting to know what the factory recommended first oil change mileage is and factory recommended break in procedure. Don't care about opinions, etc., just factory recommended information. Thanks, Frogdog
