Good idea LouG. I do that with oil filters but will be a little more careful with the drain plug. I can see what you're describing as a good way to "pull the plug".
I'm late to this part of the forum but decided some information is better than none. I live in the land of Dixie, have traveled most of the country and parts of the world in my career which I decided to end recently after finally starting my own company, selling it successfully, and I don't...
It worked quite well on my Tacoma Pre-Runner today which uses 5 quarts. Don't know why it wouldn't work on a 10 quart oil drain on my GT. This seemed like my 547,235th oil change effort. Not quite, but I just don't believe in paying people to not do as good a job at oil changes as I do.
Well, everyone was a "newbie" at one time, and in fact, everyone was a newbie at everything at one time, as in "birth". I think those that helped me have, what I consider a very successful life thus far.
Without "newbies" here, Mustangs would fade away so, if anything, they should be...
I have the FordPass app. How does one document oil changes on it? I don't see where it's done but what my dealer put in there when the car was delivered about 10 days ago. Thanks, FD
If you're worried about a new model year coming out, negotiate a better price. You do know how to negotiate don't you? I didn't pay anywhere near MSRP, then while my car was in transit, Ford came out with the employee discount, and I got that. When you want a car, get one. Life is too short...
I know I'm getting a little "elementary" but when the drain plug is taken out, does oil flow at a similar rate compared to other vehicles? Does it just take a little longer since about 10 quarts is coming out, or does it "drain out fast and fly all over the place?" I really don't want to clean...
Thread title kind of says it all. I have my first oil change coming up and need an oil drain pan to drain the 10 quarts of oil into while the car is on ramps. Anyone have any good recommendation on the best pan to use that won't get oil all over creation?
BTW, I've done more oil changes than...
Just do like I did when I used to live in Texas. I had a Mustang GT back then too and I just didn't run with the front plate. I only got stopped once in 10 years about it and I told the trooper the plate was at home and I just forgot to install it. All he did was, in a friendly manner, tell...
Wiped dead bugs off the windshield and mirrors. Washed them off the front yesterday. It takes a lot of skill to kill those pesky bugs. The slow ones end up dead.
Like an engineer that used to work for me once said: "There ain't nothin' easy". He was actually good at what he did.
Thanks all for the education on the 10R80.

Thanks RLE55, we aren't looking at the same manual apparently.
And, MAT1955, no way my transmission fluid is going 150,000 miles. This is, strangely, the only manual I've seen to change brake fluid every 3 years though, except for motorcycles and that does make a big difference when DOT 4...
I am obviously not buying into any "lifetime fluid nonsense" and I own a 2025 GT, 10 speed automatic which I like. Had I wanted a six speed, I would have ordered one. Everyone has their preference for their own reasons. Also, on Page 438 in the 2025 GT owner's manual there is nothing about an...
If you're paying someone else to coat your car with ceramic or some other whiz coating, you're being ripped. Just wash your car with Dawn to get ALL the dirt off, clay bar the surface, then wax it at least twice a year with Meguire's wax. No getting around the best looking and protecting wax...
