The topic of the thread is not "what is or isn't top tier gas". That's already very well documented.
The topic has to do with non-top tier stations moving into areas where they weren't previously located.
As Bikeman315 said, and I did with some twists, just go sit down with the service manager, get to know him (make a friend if possible), and just nicely explain your wants and expectations.
I did that, told him I already had my own PUP full synthetic and filter and would he have one of his best...
Has anyone else noticed that non-Tier One gasoline stations are either opening up new fueling stations rapidly or taking over Tier 1 stations in their area? Example: Circle K is growing fast in my affluent area with new shiny well lit stations adverstising beer and cigarettes heavily (I never...
Sure, I do like Simple Green for the right things. It's just too strong for my car but do what you want on yours. For example, I would use Purple Power (I like it better than Simple Green) for the inside of my rims but not the painted outside. I keep my outsides waxed well and leave brake...
Weelllll, anyone can say what they want but I had a C5 Z06 that would out run my new 2025, I'm pretty sure. It pulled ungodly hard from dead stop or rolling. It had a catback and minor edit that's all. It was rated at a stock 405hp and was about 700 to 800 pounds lighter than a GT which makes...
Nope, no issues every with any kind of steering wheel. There's one outside with 25 years on it, still in good shape. Must have been owned by a gorilla??
Just me, but I wouldn't go anywhere near my car with Simple Green.
Your wheels and brake calipers are going to stay dirty if you drive the car. It wouldn't be good for brake pads either. Just my opinion.
Thank you all for the massive support and many suggestions! I have a very adequate pan now thanks to your suggestions! Never thought I would get so many good alternatives. Thanks! FD
FWIW, I buy most of my oil through Amazon. Decent prices and delivered to my door. And, yes, in one instance, the bottle was damaged with a leak. Amazon was told, they just replaced the 5 quart bottle and told me to keep the broken bottle. Sounds reasonable. I bought my last Ford filter...
You're right, AZ_Ryan.
My bad on that but as his oil comes up to temp., the oil pressure will drop to "normal" as it warms up and thins out some. Hot oil flows quicker (viscosity) and pressure will fall back in to his "normal" zone. As we know, a cold engine will show higher pressure at...
This thread is getting "long in the tooth" but if I asked for synthetic 5w-30 and that's NOT what they put in, they would be changing it ASAP, as simple as that. What dealers do is pump oil out of a bulk barrel of whatever they buy and that is your oil change no matter what you ask...
I don't know what "retired" means, RLE55......interesting concept though. I just don't work. Been there, done that. It was fun most of the time. Worked for companies then decided having my own company would be more rewarding and it is or was, however I want to look at it. I still pay taxes...
It's normal. Your oil won't get to "normal" temperatures just idling. Drive the car, watch the gauge and take note of how long it takes to get to normal driving temps. It take a while.
You are so right about debt, GrabThatBlue. When I wrote a check to my dealer for my car, they were disappointed that I didn't borrow money from them to buy the car. Why? Because they make a lot of money on loans and customers pay a lot of money to service the loan. People don't do the math...
Cars are the worst investment there is unless there is something REALLY special about them and, when a car is new, you have no idea if there is something special enough about them to affect trade in. The Dark Horse is not special enough to warrant anything other than "it's a Mustang with a...
I find it interesting that Ford has an advertised 420hp Coyote, then a 460hp engine, then a 480hp engine, then a 500hp Coyote. Nice round numbers aren't they? Makes me think marketing plays a large role in stated HP. I have to wonder what the real HP of these engines are.
They sure do...
Anyone with "Fordpass" can enter an oil change into Ford's records just as a dealer can. It isn't necessary to have an oil change in Ford's records but it's easy. I keep my own records anyway.
