I bought my GT from a small, rural-ish dealer and they had a fully optioned DH on the show room floor when mine came in. They really didn't want it since they knew that particular demographic wasn't in their area. I bought my GT there because they cut me a great deal + Ford employee discount...
I had an '07 GT 5 speed. It was a very solid quick, fun car. But, beware, it has a solid axle and the rear end is a very limiting factor when it comes to controlling the car. Ask me how I know. A dumb-ass woman forced me and others head on into the divider wall on I-24 doing 70 mph when the...
^^^^^^Your last sentence pretty well sums up what I've always believed and practiced. You get what you pay for in most things in this world. There's a difference in "frugal" and "cheap".
Well, not everyone's car performs as well as yours and mine with AE in Track, apparently. Nobody here can hurt us.......👍 It has to do with gravity differences in your locale, mine, and the rest of the world's.......
Well, I guess we are the two in the world that notice a difference so it must not be theory. It's more than the butterfly valve because they're wide open in Sport mode as well as in Track mode. I notice a driving difference not only from a stop but just driving in general.
Those that have it know what it sounds like. When I put mine in Track Mode, it is a very little bit louder but it drives a little "crisper" for lack of a better description. The car seems to have a little more spunk. In Sport mode, the butterfly valve in both exhausts is wide open same as...
Anyone that is budget strained between octanes shouldn't have bought the car. The only 87 my car has seen was the dealer fill up when brand new. Yes, the car ran. LIke someone else said in so many words, same thing with oil, use synthetic instead of dead dinosaur oil. Yeah it costs more but...
I had an '07 GT, 4.6, 3V, and had zero issues with it. The 3V was used in pick ups at the time too so lots of them were made and used with no problems. At the time, it was rated as one of the top 10 V8's made. It "only" had 300 hp but, at the time, that was respectable and it was a spunky...
Heck, I just sat across the desk from the sales manager and negotiated better than this. Then, along comes the Ford employee discount after I ordered the car for an even better deal. Shop around and negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. Dealers have to sell cars to stay in business.......
I'm a Continental fan as well on all my vehicles. Just curious which Continental you would put on a GT. That's what mine came with and they're doing OK for an OEM tire. I plan to replace them with better Continentals since I'm not a track or racer boy.
Also, to the OP, if your car is...
Ford has arrows molded in the bottom of the side plastic strips down the side and bottom on each side of the car. Not sure what that part is called. I believe the arrows are identified in the owner's manual.
Use some pure silicone spray around places that latch, rub, or make any kind of suspicious contact. The pure silicone won't hurt anything it gets on (unless you ever want to paint it) but you never know what is rubbing, moving around, latching, etc. Pure silicone can be hard to find but I use...
You're right. I'm at my destination and it has averaged over 25 while not trying at all. On the way back, i will keep my foot more disciplined and we'll see what it will do.
