Whilst small in numbers, over 70% of Mustang sales in the UK have been for the V8......so there's at least one other country that wants a V8 ;) But, I do get your points. At the very least, I really, REALLY hope S650 offers a V8 of some description, even if it is just for a halo model.

Ford celebrated the 50th anniversary in April 2014, showing the '15MY S550 in very early production spec. So, the 55th anniversary would be in April 2019. Given the dates indicated in the article (see below), S650 would still be a year away from production, which is scheduled to start in...

I agree. I guess I should clarify my one point. When I said I think the '18MY will keep the Camaro honest, I meant purely in terms of performance and content. In terms of sales, I think the Mustang is probably performing better than anyone dared think, especially in terms of worldwide sales :)

I also forgot to mention, whilst Camaro is the traditional competition for the Mustang, S550 has broadened Mustang's horizon's like never before. Competition now includes premium German brands like BMW's 4 (and 2!) Series, Audi A5 and well as many others. It's found a superb slice of the market...

Remember.......Mustang fans forced Ford to rethink the FWD non-V8 Mustang back in the early 90's. Fan pressure resulted in that car becoming the Probe instead. If we want the V8 in the 7th Gen Mustang, we need to let Ford know :ford: (no doubt they are reading this!)

I'd be happy for the 7th gen Mustang GT to have an Ecoboost 6...........just as long as there's still an option for a V8, even if it's a more expensive, lower volume SE :)

I guess the one downside of this is the new car won't be around for the 55th birthday celebrations.....which I assume would be in April 2019, unless Ford decide to release a concept, which they didn't for S550.

Now, can we all send positive V8 vibes to the '21MY team? Whilst I'd welcome some form of Ecoboost 6, I still want to see a V8 in the next-gen Mustang :ford:

Now, Team Mustang, don't bother too much with the styling proposals for '21MY.....just use this as a starting point (not too sure why this didn't get beyond a sketch for S550!) (apologies, I know I've posted this serveral times before, but just want to ensure Ford gets the message :p )
